Hey, any ideas why my manual 4WD shifter won't budge after changing my clutch? It's stuck in 2H. I changed the control retainer for the 4WD shifter in the process because the old plastic seat was in pieces when I removed the lever. The front propeller shaft spins freely. Thanks for any help.

Make sure the shifter goes back in the right slot. You can tighten the bolts down and have it not budge because it's in the wrong spot.

Tighten the bolts down? It has a snap ring that keeps the lever in place. It was on the wrong side of the select return spring. Works like a champ now.

Sometimes you pull the whole assembly(shifter base and shift lever) rather than just the shifter. Then it is easy to get the lever out of the shift fork pocket.

    The Bed is stock...ish
Pull the shifter base ( 4 bolts) and line the slots up, reinstall the shifter. Should work correctly.
