Cut open tail lights to change bulb?

Hey guys-- My right tail lamp is out. Someone said the 3rd gen's are sealed from the factory and the only way to change the bulb is cut it open.

I now have it apart, can anyone tell what size/type bulb this is? Thanks!

Not sure on the bulb, take it to a store and they'll tell you. As far as the taillight, doesn't look sealed to me, that bulb sits in the gray socket which you twist to release, at least just from what I see.

Did the directions from the owners manual not work to get the bulbs out?

Bulb replacements should be standard, any parts store ought to have a lookup book.

 

Good luck on sealing it up again so you don't get water inside the lens...
