Has anyone messed around with trying to mirror your cellphone screen to the stock headunit? What are all the plugins on the back like? Any way to wire something into the USB plug in the dash to just connect a phone directly to the headunit for screen mirroring and audio (I don't care about touch screen compatibility, although that would be a huge bonus)

I've only seen one mirroring kit and IIRC it was $4-500, didn't offer touch functionality.

I actually just found a few wired solutions for cheaper, but I should definitely rephrase... I want to know if there is a MIRACAST solution. I also don't know how often I would use this in my truck aside from casting google maps onto the screen...

I tried the crux mirroring kit. Most options use the same wire harness. I was not impressed with the quality on screen. While plugged in the phone does not charge. Tried it for a day and returned it. Not worth the money.

I have a different opinion regarding the Crux Avity-01. I have it installed in our Highlander and plan to install it in my 2017 Taco at some point. The quality isn't perfect but it's still decent and mirrors content just fine (everything is still very clear). Another HUGE benefit of the Crux kit is that it offered a video in motion overrride which gives access to ALL content that usually gets greets iutbwhile you're driving. Also, if you wore it right and use an iPhone cable for power, you can have the phone charge while it's plugged in and mirroring. There's another thread taking about this too. If you look around, you should be able to find the kit for cheap. I think when all was said and done, I was out around $150. Not sure where this $400-500 price is coming from.
