Morning spent the last couple of hours spreading salt on the glacier formally known as my driveway. Ice is a couple of inches thick in places and working my way up to the top. I bounced hard when I fell, sitting on the hot pad before I go out and finish the top section have almost 50 pounds down now. Which put me down to about 150 pounds of salt time to get some more. Nothing above freezing in the forecast next 15 days back to winter.

What they said. I did not take my seats out but wish I would have broke one of the straps on the passanger side. Still fits tight but was a PITA fighting with it.

Damn knew I forgot something yesterday. Christmas cookies were pretty much sold out so planned on checking to see if they had anymore in stock today at the bakery. And now fudge.

When I was young got paid dollar an hour helping a logger pull black walnut stumps with Morgan horses. Sometimes they turned out to be rotten but every once in awhile get one in great shape and he would check it out and yell goldmine. Pretty sure those ended up at Ithaca gun.

Good show. My absolute favorite was Wood Works with David Marks. What an artist. Although after watching him I realized I will never posses that much talent. They have both taught me to use templates as much as possible though.

    Not at all.
As conservative as that area is, it probably got yanked as soon as he messed up the first time.

I have a pair of campons, someplace around here, should have dug them out. Too late now the battle between the ice and me has gotten personal. And I will win. This time.

Well that's nice. My grill isn't sold at Lowes anymore as well as parts so I gambled on "universal" burners.
    They don't work.

I quit with the propane when I finally got away from apartment living. I don't miss it at all. The only thing I use it for now is my turkey fryer...speaking of which, when I finished with the turkey yesterday I threw in some spring rolls and pop tarts.

No wonder I can't retire until I'm 90. U lazy bums aren't making a contribution to my cause. What's up with that? Get off the sofa and the ice (grin). Stop eating, and help me out.

That's the one! He has some pretty rare equipment and one heck of a shop in general. And some of the rarest woods I've ever seen. He has been featured in Fine Woodworking several times. Me, erh not so much LOL.

That's what I have. I added an external fire box for indirect/smoking. Now my only challege is finding wood to cook/smoke with. Luckily I have access to mesquite here, just not in any large amount so I mix it with charcoal. Whenever I go to NoCal I bring back oak and madrone.

That SxS would likely rot out in a few years too. I kept a Char Broil grill going 15 years with those universal burners replacing grates, etc. Finally hit me I could have purchased a real grill and have it last the rest of my life so did. Have had Weber kettle grills forever so went with the Weber Genesis and no regrets at all. Cry once and be done with it :)

Weber Smokey Mountain smoker will be here Wednesday. They all have their place in my cooking routine and I have the rotisserie for the gas and charcoal grills. Smoking on the kettle in the cold here gets old quick looking forward to the WSM and breaking it in. Couple of fatty pork butts should do the trick.

There's a used wsm for sale locally for $180. It looks good in pictures, says used 5 times. But I really want to do my own build with brick and steel. Brick walls, slide or drop in steel framing/grating and firebox. Indirect smoke, warming box and a built in cubby for the deep fryer to keep it out of the wind and make it safer to not get knocked over (hot oil scares the crap out of me) all on a concrete slab...overhead shade.

I have an oooold cast iron griddle. The USFS used to check out griddles to campers that fit on their improved camp sites. Over the years they've been done away with, but I managed to snatch one up about 25 years ago before it got trashed.
