VSC + c1432

I was installing a bumper light bar and didn't get a chance to wire it up because it started snowing. I ran wiring for LED, but never hooked anything up. Got in the truck and "Check vehicle stability control system" was on the display and checking codes it gives me 1 fault: C1432. Not sure why this showed up and if it has anything to do with light bar. Truck runs and drives fine. Thoughts?

Did you unplug anything?
You said you ran wire but never hooked anything up, maybe when running wire you knocked something loose.

 

ran LED wire for switch through firewall and zip tied. pulled p/outlet No 1 fuse and washer fuse to test with multimeter to confirm only on with ignition/ACC for anticipated add a fuse to switch. started snowing. replaced fuses and cleaned up. nothing connected to battery or switches. Didn't get that far. Can't think of anything that could have gotten knocked loose beside around the front bumper and that doesn't make sense to me.

 

I would retrace my steps where wire was pulled through, make sure you put the fuses back in the correct spot, make sure you didn't blow a fuse, and look for any connectors along the route you ran wire, both sides of the firewall. It seems like it should be something simple, and you didnt have this problem until you ran wire for a light, so it seems to be the most logical step to take first. If all else fails, you may have to pay dealer to diagnose and repair.

 

You definitely either knocked a plug loose or you just happen to have gotten a sensor go bad. Find where that sensor and plug is a go from there.

 

So I didn't find any connection issues or obvious solution, so I took it in to Toyota and they scheduled me for appointment after Christmas. The code description for c1432 I found above wasn't what they mentioned. Still pulling that code though. Check engine light never came on but VSC light stays on.

 

Update. Blown fuse. Dtc c1432 steering angle sensor power source voltage malfunction. Recommended checking ECU-B no 2 fuse and ECU-IG no 3 fuse.
