When I put my truck in 4 wheel drive mode, a light comes on the dash telling me it's in 4X4. It this normal? I'm just worried that I got one of those lime trucks I keep hearing about.

I noticed that same warning several times when I first got my truck, but I was spending a lot of time in my truck with the ACC on but truck not running trying to figure out Bluetooth issues with Entune system.. Why all my text messages come across as unknown contact and why every 3 or 4th time I get in my truck and my music skips... Once I gave up and accepted the system is not perfect, and quit playing with the radio, I haven't seen the warning light since.

    Nothing to worry about..

The criticism of the OP is unwarranted. This is an idiotic message, like so much of th Tacoma's user interface. The vehicle knows the engine isn't running so it's not charging at all. It also knows the actual battery voltage and could just display that, maybe with a reminder/suggestion that you turn the power off or start the engine. Sorry, for a vehicle designed in the US, marketd primarily in the US and Canada (i.e. mostly English-speaking owners) and with a large enthusiast customer base, there's too much that's either dumbed-down, or written in a non-native speaker Marketing lingo on these trucks

I had absolutely no idea that was not normal, I thought his truck was running at the time.

I think he mean "lame" truck .... Toyota doesn't make a "lime" colored truck .... that I know of.

@smitty99 - isn't it time for you to go see your service mgr again... maybe you should take along a holiday gift... say a bottle of single malt and say "hi its me again " ... ONE problem solved.
