hmm..i'm sure I didn't have to have my engine running when I went into the setup option. I never saw this posted warning, as posted above, either. My Tacoma is a 2016, OR, TRD, with JBL, tech package, auto transmission. What I do to get into 'Vehicle customization inside the 'Setup' option, is to press the start button 2x, without pressing on the brake (press once, 'ACC' system turns on, press second time, trucks whole system turns on except for the engine since brake was not stepped on). Select 'setup', swipe the screen all the way to the last screen, select 'vehicle', then 2 options will appear (vehicle customization, Toyota park assist). In my truck, the 'vehicle customization' will be unlit, need to wait for a few seconds for it to come on. you can find settings to shut off the DTL, auto headlight on sensitivity, how doors will lock/ unlock.. lots of fun stuff. hope this helps, good luck.

another request - does anyone know if there's a clock available on the multi-display? Be great to turn off the head unit screen and still have a clock somewhere...

Should add this. Bushing on my tailgate broke and couldn't order a new one bc it's discontinued (trucks produce before 2016 feb) wasted three visit to the deal without result. I replaced it with one made by Shapeway refer by member on TW. IMG_5154.jpgIMG_5158.jpg

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
The Owner's Manual list all available options. Clock isn't one of them.

yup, found an electronic copy last night and did a search for 'clock' - nothing other than how to set the time!
Guess it's time to get a watch

Why turn it off to begin with? If the radio is what is bothering you just mute it or turn it all the way down.

You can change the homescreen by:
    1. go to 'setup'
    2. select 'homescreen display'
    3. 3- options: a. 1- pane
    b. 2-pane
    c. 3-pane
    4. after you make your selection as to how many panes, you can assign what to display in each pane, such as clock, radia, navigation. etc..

They are looking for a clock display on the small screen located behind the steering wheel.

thanks, there's a clock just sitting on the top of the display - was hoping to find a way to see the time with the display off, like on the small screen behind the steering wheel - would be great if the temperature switched to the time periodically, but i'll have to look for a little digital clock to put somewhere

Are you sure about the "a. 1 - pane" option...I think that mine only has 2 and 3 pane options....

This is something I would like to see a hack for- 1 pane is sufficient for me most of the time.

One pane is available; when on the home screen, just touch the pane that you want displayed as full screen. Now you have 1 pane! If you choose any app through the app tab, it also displays 1 pane.
