not coils, but they were similar in length to coils.

Those aren't mine. I prefer a more magenta tone with silver pearl.

I don't think so, but I'm no metallurgist. They come powdercoated, and I suppose multiple trips to the oven could begin altering their temper. But PC ovens are only going to about 400 degrees (kithcen oven is hotter than that), and I think they wouldhave to be a shitload hotter (exceeding 1000 at least) to do anything to coil springs. But there are a variety of different types of coating, and I imagine someone who knows WTF they are doing will be on top of it. Is my hope. This all started because of those goddamn King metallic gunmetal coils DSM did a GB on last year.

PC isn't going to do shit to a spring. Pick your color and it will be fine.

Well pulled the supercharger tonight, I forget how easy it is to do and how it takes more time to replace the stupid belt. Also started on the valve covers because I have a ton of oil on the back of the engine and steering rack. Glad I did do them as they are awful and so much caked on crud. This engine hasn't seen much TLC and I have a major clean up before I put it all back together.

On that note, any good ways to remove all the caked on oil off the engine and valve covers? Been using some brake cleaner and paper towels but that is slow and inefficient.

That takes me back about 20 years to my first 'real' MTB. had some spiffy Cook Bros cranks. Purple was all the rage from '92-98...
