Had this all put in yesterday. Only played with it for an hour last night. All functions from the factory work. The instulation kit looks like it came from the factory. Thank God no more Entune!

@jimburnz Nice choice on the head unit. I'm waiting to see if Pioneer announces the Avic-8300 at this years CES then I'll pull the trigger on that one. I still have the Kenwood in place till then. Curious, did the installation shop give you the option to keep the in dash USB and use the secondary USB? There is an adaptor for the in dash USB, and If you have SiriusXM there is an adaptor of for the stock antenna. Idatalink just came out with the adaptor for sirius, it's the acc-SAT-TO2.

The USB drive was not saved, (the installer tried, but failed) had to add a second USB with an HDMI. Also added a new Sirius receiver. I read about the adapter after the fact. No big deal got the receiver for 80.00 bucks & had 3 months free with activation. In total with transferring cost me about 30.00 bucks.

For future reference for anyone that wants to keep the USB. This Adaptor from Crutchfield will work. Part number 120TOYUSB

Do you have a backup camera attached to this? I was told that the factory camera requires an adapter to change it from 6V to 12V.

I'm waiting for Toyota to do an Android/iOS headunit in their future trucks so I can mirror maps straight to the headunit. Once that happens, I'll change the stock headunit for one that supports both popular OS'

I tend to change phones every once in a while, so it would be nice having both available

The back up camer works perfectly! The Mastro will salvage the camera. If you don't use you will have to change from 6v to 12v

@jimburnz Did your audio shop give you the options to customize programming on your Steering wheel controls? If you weren't aware Maestro allows you to assign different commands to your controls. example my "mode" button if held down mutes and unmutes the music.

We did a custom flash, so far all the controls work as needed.

with the maestro, does the rear camera come on when you put it in reverse, or is it manual now? also, did the maestro use your factory mic for bluetooth?

The camera comes on automatically, just like the factory head unit. But the maestro does not use the factory mic. You would need to install the after market head unit mic.

Also if you have the tech package it keeps the backup sensors, with some head units displaying the proximity on the head unit screen. The backup lines are built into the factory camera so if your after market head unit has them, you would need to disable them.

Just curious if anyone knows what happens to the dash cluster LCD when you replace the head unit on 3rd gens. Any info?

Hey guys, I'm in the same boat. Just got a new 2017 with the JBL package. I like the sound it puts out, I just want to get rid of entune and get a deck that has Carplay. @jimburnz did you install the unit yourself or did you have a shop do it? Curious if you ran into any issues.

I did the complete install myself. but I've been installing my personal stereo's for about 20 years now. And it helps I work in electronics. with that being said it's not all that difficult. Just follow the wiring digram carefully. Everything is well spelled out. flashing the meastro is straight forward, answer the questions and go. The only part I would say may give a bit of trouble is getting your computer to recognize the meastro unit. Mine wouldn't see the unit at first.

Everything still works except the song information and the turn by turn navigations. Song information will work if on HD radio, and I can get song info to show up for the iPhone if I plug the iPhone in after using the HD radio. But straight up iPhone plugged in the information won't show. Usually headhunts don't output nav directions other than on the main screen so I don't see a way to connect turn by turn on the cluster LCD.

    Hope that helps.
