Greetings. Yes, I know MN is not OH, but you guys are close. I am moving to MN from Texas. I have a 2011 Tacoma crew cab PreRunner. It is a two-wheel drive.

I have been up to Minneapolis several times over the last four years. I don't see any Tacomas up there. In fact I don't see a lot of pickup trucks and when I do they are usually a 4WD Ford or Dodge.

    1. My first question is how do the Tacomas due up there on ice? I do recall the earlier generation of small Japanese trucks used to spin like tops here in Texas at the first sign of ice or snow. This was due to the center of gravity being so far to the front. On my crew cab I expect the center of gravity is a bit further back, but would like to hear some experiences about that.

    2. Are all-weather tires sufficient or should I always get snow tires?

    3. My bed is open. Do most of you cover your beds and if so, what kind of system do you use? Down here I just use a $15 net to secure stuff in my open bed. What about snow loads on cover systems, any worries?

    4. I plan to keep the truck in a home garage overnight, but are there any special products that help you get the ice off easily for when I let the car sit in a parking lot all day at work? I mean things like like Rainex for fog and rain, but that would help with ice that forms on the glass in terms of scraping it off quickly.

    5. Any tips for starting the car when it is really cold. Things to keep the battery in shape. Should I always keep it on a tender overnight during the winter?

Anything else would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!
