Doing about 25mph my passenger was fooling with the overhead and hit the rear end lock out button. The dash icon flashed red and beeped then went out. I'm assuming it didn't lock out the differential because the light didn't stay on. Hope I didn't hurt anything?

The computer is smart enough not to engage at that speed and you need to be in 4 Low anyway, you should be just fine.

You can't lock the rear unless you are in 4Lo, and to get there you have to be stopped and in neutral, you're fine

Just to be clear here because I don't have a 3rd gen, but on my 1st gen, the switch is left of the steering wheel. Please tell me the switch on 3rd gens is right of the wheel. Otherwise, this "friend" had to be sitting in your lap. Hmm? just saying?

On the 3rd Gen ORs, it's on the ceiling switch panel.

Two of my friends ran into a tree going 60 when one grabbed the e brake and pulled it "just to see how it would work out." Glad your truck is alright!

If she's hot, then sitting in my lap or placing her head there would be preferred. 2nd gens have the locker to the left of the wheel too but I have locker anytime so I should probably pull over just to be safe.

If only there was a book that came with the truck that showed when and how certain things work.

I don't even own a tacoma and I know when it can be used/locked, I am guessing you never use or need it?

Wow I'm impressed. You don't own a Tacoma and you know all that stuff. Imagine if you actually bought one?

And yes I scoured the manual prior to posting and there's nothing about locking out the feature at speed
