Spark plugs always work. That's how they stole my radio. They even left the spark plug

Bumper, Winch, 315s, Sliders, OME HD lift, Custom rear swingout, roof rack, drawers, way too much to list.
1st Gen 4runners had the removable fiberglass hard top and it warped after 15-20 years so you could just slide open the rear windows, the ignition cylinder was bad about breaking and being able to start with a screwdriver. I used to act like I was breaking into and stealing my '89 all the time... nobody ever called the cops.

This that and the other thing.
I had fried the main power cable going to my starter on my old 99 Jimmy, I had a 3" body lift so I could reach the starter from above the tire, had to jump it with a pair of needle nose to get er' started. sure felt like I was hot wiring the truck and the look on peoples faces as I started the truck while reaching over the tire was priceless haha but like you said, no one ever said anything or called the cops.

I appreciate all the help. Guy airbags the door, reaches in with a long to and grabbed the door handle. Took 15 sec tops.

I have a spare key double zip tied in a safe, clean place somewhere under my truck. Never had to use it, but it'll get in if ever needed.

I've had a spare key made. The blank is one of the flat key blanks with no bulky plastic molded on it. I then taped it in a hidden location on the top side of my frame with duct tape. That way if I lock my keys in, I can retrieve my extra key and unlock the door. The key doesn't have a chip in it so I don't have to worry about that. I've used it once when I mistakenly locked my keys in.

I like the zip tye idea better than duct tape.

Any key place can make a bare metal key?

Noooooo! I hope you don't have more wind noise from a bent door causing the seal to leak. My wife locked her keys in her car a few years ago, decided is was better to pay one of those clowns to get her in, rather than calling me to drive 5 minutes there. When they air bagged the door, they bent it slightly, and the wind noise pisses me off every time I drive it now.

I took the spare that came with the truck (not the one that locks/unlocks the truck) to my local locksmith and they made one up for me.

I might be a little late to help you out here, but if you have a credit card in your pocket you should be able to slip that into the slider to push the latch out far enough to open the slider.

I've got a similiar setup. You would never know where it was unless you spent some time feeling around for it. Put it on there when I first bought the truck, and have only needed it once so far. I've checked it every once in awhile to make sure the key is still rust free. It beats the heck out of waiting for roadside assistance.

I'm not sure what the spare key is. I have 2 keys with plastic heads.

Here are my two "spares". I Guess the keys are the same. The bottom one is the one I took to the locksmith for a copy. The copy didn't have plastic head.

    Sorry for the confusion.

That's the best plan. I usually do the same thing.
