I just got my 06 Tacoma prerunner a couple days ago and before now I was oblivious on the textured or painted fender flares I now know that I would rather have the painted flares. Were the painted flares an option or year specific? Is it possible to get paintable flares for the 06? I also noticed that what I guess is some 3m double sided trim tape has lost adhesion on the passenger rear flare so I guess that should take some new tape, remove flare and old tape, clean and reassemble?

Color matched flares were available on trucks with the sr5 package. Theyre held on by blue and orange plastic clips and can be somewhat difficult to remove without breaking them or the portion of the flare that connects to them. Ive been wanting to color match mine, but am unsure of how im going to go about it just yet.
