Looking to get an LED light bar for my truck to enhance night time driving. I want something like a flood light to light up not only the road but the side of the road. My budget is around $500. Not sure if I should get a 50" and mount the light bar to roof with brackets or a 30" and mount in-between the grille and bumper. Looking at Rigid Industries, any suggestions? This is a leased truck, however I do plan to buy it after... just not sure about drilling modifications. Also, looking for something that could be easily installed by myself.

    HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I assume you mean off road night time driving? I am unaware of any state where it's legal to use these on the road.

    all tore up already
500 wont touch a rigid light bar(id recommend staying away from the radiance. had a number of people not impressed with ones ive sold, e series v1 in a 50" msrp $1599.99). and id be very careful with modding a leased vehicle. some roof mounted bars require drilling into the roof which would be a hefty price when you go to turn in the lease at the end plus all the other issues with rooftop bars. lastly i really hope you arent planning to use this on roads

I've become a fan of that in-between bumper light on these 3rd gens. It looks so sleek and is also less likely to be susceptible to sticky fingers as it is tucked away. Our C-Series 30" bar has a lux at 10 meters value of 3,187lx (16,200 lumens, but lux is a good measurement of usable light, not just raw lumens), and falls perfectly into your budget. It would come with free shipping to the lower 48, and comes with our 23 year warranty backed by our 46 years of experience in the lighting industry. Let me know if you have any questions!

@VirginiaBound Super valid question. Without comparing the exact specifics of the KC HiLiTES C-Series 40" bar with that Amazon one you linked, let me attempt to answer you:

There's a number of reasons. We aren't a company that knocks designs off of others; we have been involved in this industry for over 46 years now and we have our consumers best interests at heart. We want to provide products that suit what you guys need and try to do so at a price that is affordable and not exorbitant. All of our stuff is designed by us and assembled by us in the USA. From the optics to the reflectors to the housing to the thermal management, everything is researched/designed by us to maximize performance and control the light output. We want to be as transparent as possible and give you all the information available about the product you're buying, and that's why we create the data sheets containing that info for every product and have an entire webpage on lighting Technology. This sharing of information and spreading of lighting knowledge is important to us, so that people can use this to make the best purchasing decision, regardless of if it is a KC product or another companies.

We put in the research and effort into making the best products offered, but we also stand by them. That's why we offer a 23 year warranty, because we completely stand by our product and we want to offer the best customer support out there. If you have any questions, any complaints, any praises, or just wanna chat about lighting, call us. We're happy to talk with you all. And if we don't have the answer to your question, we'll work pretty dang hard to figure it out for ya. By buying a light from us, you're joining a huge collection of people that have also trusted us for their lighting needs.

KC is an awesome company. Every light on my Jeep is KC. Any new lights on my truck will likely be KC. They've never failed me.

If your budget is $500, then Rigid is kinda out already.

I love my Caliraised bar, but it's for sure not the only mid-priced lighting solution

I really appreciate all of the helpful info in here!

Does anyone have any preference on the Mictuning 32" LED bar (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CLHGGVC/) with included harness versus the Eyourlife 32" LED bar (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8RYHHE/) with an Opt7 harness (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K1NS0PS/)?

Will both work with the Caliraised brackets (https://caliraisedled.com/collectio...ota-tacoma-32-light-bar-lower-bumper-brackets)? I'd prefer to not drill into the crash bars.

Lastly, does anyone know which is the right size Mictuning switch (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0117B189M/) for the 2017 Tacoma? I'm looking at a blue switch for the blank switch spot next to the rear slider switch. Sizes are 1.54" x 0.83" or 1.28" x 0.87". I think it's 1.54" x 0.83" but wanted to confirm.

    Thanks!

1983 restoration in progress, major mods so far new 6" lift and 35" Mickey Thompsons.
    The switch size is 39mm x 21mm which I believe is the 1.54" x .83".

KC makes good lights, I have had those on other trucks and they worked well and were very well built.

I currently have a 30" Caliraised light bar that I got from a group buy last year. I'm very happy with it and am very impressed with the quality, so much so I just purchased back up and ditch lights from them. They also are very helpful and have great customer service.

There are a lot of products out there. I would definitely look for a company that has good customer service and will stand behind their pruduct.

This is the truth. We live in a time with tons of options for products (which is a great thing!), so the companies that have good service and product backing are the ones that stand out. That's always been what I look for too, which is why I have the brands on my truck that I do. Most TW vendors have good service but there's too much product overlap to rep every good brand out there! :annoyed:
