Actually, that's very close to the 255/85/16 that many of us feel is perfect for the Tacoma (I love mine). The extra width in the 10.5 is where you could run into trouble - it's about 1/2 an inch wider. The 255s fit great on a stock wheel with no spacer and no trimming, not sure about the 10.5.

That's not encouraging to a new member. Yes this has been asked alot and there's a ton of information on this subject, but lets help if we can lord knows i'm no expert and may learn something also. I've got 2.5" on the front and I'm running 255/80/17's I know they're 33's but I'm pretty sure cooper rates them as 10.4" wide so pretty close to what's being asked. Mine clear fine no cmc needed as of yet just removal of mud guards and perhaps a little trimming of the flare at the bottom but i had already done that to clear 285's. Good luck OP there's a ton of great info on here. Don't be affraid to use the search feature alot of what your asking is in the suspension or wheels and tires section. Welcome to TW!

    To many to name
I got a 3in procomp and 33x11.50s and -12 offset fuels and they rub when backing up mainly due to my laziness to trim

    Some stuff...
I'm running 285/70/17's (33s) on a 3" lift, but I had to do some fender trimming and the CMC (Cab Mount Chop, essentially grinding back the cab mounts and welding in a new piece of steel in place). Don't be dissuaded or intimidated by the CMC, it's really not that bad with the right tools and as others have pointed out, there's lots of posts and info on it if you go that route.

For daily driving I'm fine, no rub whatsoever. However when turning upon flex I'll rub my Bushwacker fender flares, which I had to trim as well. I'm just cognizant of this when wheelin.

    Good luck and welcome!
