This morning something strange happened. I went to get something out of my 02 Tacoma and noticed the headlights were on. I usually leave my headlight switch on and they turn off automatically when I turn off the ignition and open the door.

After noticing they were on I started the truck and actually turned the headlight switch off. The lights then turned off and stayed off when I turned off the ignition. But then 5 minutes later the lights go back on. Tried again and same thing happens.

I do have LED headlights. I also drove through a lot of rain yesterday. Also, one time when I turned the truck off the ventilation fan kept running until I turned it from low to high.

    Thanks -

Just tried again and the ventilation fan ran again until I turned it to high (after I turned the ignition off)

Check all your ground wires/ especially the body ground to battery.

LED lights should not matter, I have them and they shut off.

someone else had an issue with their door switch.

but the fan should always go off with the ignition, that's a weird one. but follow Jon's advice and check

I tried cleaning the body ground to battery, but no difference. Now the fan is always staying on after I turn the ignition off (until I turn the fan to high)

Where are any other grounds I should check?

    Thanks -

BTW I am good with cars but usually work on old Volkswagens. My Tacomas never need much work...

With the fan running pull the heater relay out of main fuse panel under hood. and with fan running relay in pull fuses under dash 1 at a time to see if fan shuts off

Problem seems to have taken care of itself. I suspect water got somewhere it shouldn't have.
