There is a local guy near me that sells and rents them , he'll pick up and drop off an 8x20 for $150

I'm going to have mine dropped off at the house site where I am starting a new build and then either have it moved to my house or the next site at the end of build

Picked up the embedment anchor bolts for the seismic hold downs on my current house build today . These should keep the house from leaping off the foundation lol

There's one per hold down , the rest of the locations are drilled and grouted into the rock , these are for a location where the concrete wall is tall enough for full bolt embedment

Have you guys ever seen or heard anything about the life expectancy of a shipping container in direct contact with dirt, like how yours is @Frkypunk ? Did you do anything to the exterior before backfilling?

Is it on a concrete pad or anything like that?

Do those get epoxyed in or is there something on the other side?

The nut / washer end gets embeded / poured into the concrete with about 2" of threads exposed that the hold down bolts onto

My dream lately has been to find some acreage in Vermont, far enough in the woods that I don't need to worry about building to code or anything.

I don't know how realistic it would be, but I've been imagining four 20' long shipping containers, 2 end to end with a space and then 2 more end to end, then build a 40'x40' deck on top of it. The space between them could have garage doors. And I'd put a 30' yurt on the deck. I feel like this would be considered a temporary structure so if the town did take a look at it, hopefully it wouldn't be a big deal. And this would allow me to avoid footings for the deck, which would suck to dig below the frost line with lots of big rocks in the ground.

It would just be a vacation property. Plenty of storage for quads and snowmobiles, etc.

I need to see if it would be cheaper to just build a pole barn instead of a bunch of shipping containers.

Current project is completely rewiring my shop, putting up a new nat. gas shop heater, and then insulating. It's cinderblock, so I will be studding it out as well. Then to wire up my new toy and run some air lines. I was a one man operation unloading it with my tractor lol

There is a house in a neighboring town that is a double wide mobile home set on top of two 40 footer shipping containers, all of it above ground. It's set up in an "H" shape to where there is covered parking under the house and between the two containers.

Mine is saturated in foundation sealer....essentially tar....I have no problem..but I did build a shelving system to give me support where it was buried the deepest. It's on gravel with 6" drain tile surrrounding it. Hope that helps happy new year...

If I was going to bury one I would use peel & stick on it and then install Superseal foundation dimpleboard prior to backfilling which would provide a drainage mat for bulk water and eliminates hydrostatic pressure

I wish I had more grass. Plan on putting in some more lawn with this year's tax return.

Got the vanity installed and all plumbed up. Getting close now. Have to cut the face off the one drawer and glue it on. The plumbing supply line came in right at the rear support for the drawer. Oh well, win some, lose some.

The face? ...or do you mean shorten the drawer?
