    Hey TacomaWorld,

I just bought my first new car. Got the TRD Off Road 4x4 LB! Any tips on breaking it in, which octane gas to use, etc would be helpful.

I read the thread about how easy it is to steal tailgates. That was pretty surprising and I've been locking it ever since.

    Thanks and happy new years!

As the owner of a 3rd gen I'd have thought you'd have noticed it already has a lock and the OP says he locks it....

I'm probably uneducated on this topic. But why would a 3rd gen need a pop n lock? Don't they already have locking tailgates?

Yes they do, however, Pop & Lock has an electronic actuator that locks the tailgate when you lock the truck either from the inside or with the FOB. They also have a looking anti-theft device. Of course this is negated when you lock the tailgate, but in the event you forget to, your tailgate is safe from thieves.

Tip for the q's you ask: Read the owners manual.

Check your fluid levels and tire pressures. Dealer prep is often hit or miss. Adjust if needed.

Enjoy the vehicle. Take it easy till you get used to what it will and won't do in terms of acceleration, stopping and turning radius, especially when backing up.

    Welcome!
