    Hello Everybody,

Does anybody else have their "pregnant man indicator" light on their dashboard come on sporadically? I know this is the air bag indicator light. Unfortunately, mine never comes on consistently. It only illuminates sporadically. The air bags have never been serviced on our Tacoma.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Take it easy,
    Paul

Haha, normally, I would say that sounds like great news.

A friend had this issue with his '05 Camry, he was a pretty good troubleshooter, but the dealership ultimately had to address it for him.

Try unplugging the battery and reset everything, if that doesn't help and it comes back on you will have to take it to the dealer to maybe re calibrate your sensors or repair.

As these trucks age electrical gremlins are often traced to corroded grounds and if cleaned up and vinyl tape coated can alleviate some issues.

check your steering wheel clockspring. Though, bad clocksprings are usually accompanied by horn problems, turn signals problems, cruise control not working and of course, the airbag light. If any of these happens especially as your steering wheel is turned, well, it is very likely the clockpring is the culprit

Could also be the sensors under the seats or the crash sensors

Turn your steering wheel lock-to-lock and see if the light comes on near the end of travel.

If it does, either the clock spring (aka spiral cable) is bad or an airbag wire is chafing inside the wheel.

If it doesn't come on, take the truck to a shop with a good scanner that can read Toyota-specific SRS module codes.
