I love the look. Funny I never put one on my 2001, not sure yet if it deflects bugs, only been on about a month and not many bugs out yet. On the 2001, where the bug deflector would of been, lots of little nicks and scratches, I'm sure this will help with the small rocks and bugs!!

Did the WeatherTech rep tell you what type of mounting they are using (brackets, screws, tape)? I live close to their factory so maybe I could pick one up and report back this weekend. I am a little leery on using tape on no matter what brand it is.

Another example of an AVS hood deflector (dealer installed as part deal)(dealer cost as option in Canada is $240) ..... not drilling and no contact with the hood finish as they do contain rubber bumpers on the underside of the deflector ....... also had AVS vent visors installed at the same time by dealer .... no wind noise with them ......living in a rural environment with gravel roads the deflector sure helps reduce stone chipping, can't say they really keep bugs off ........IMG_3427.jpg IMG_3430.jpg

I am thinking of adding a hood deflector to my 2016 Taco but there has been issues raised on some of them. Right now I'm thinking of ordering the AVS 11 instead of the weather tech. Anyone with comments I would welcome. Thanks.

Easily solvable yes. Didn't know dealership didn't put a pad on from the start. Had I known I would of modified. Instead I have chipped paint where the brackets mounted on the hood.

I would get the "matte" as the "smoke" shows scratches real bad. Had one on the '15 Colorado I traded off.

They do help, you know you have about a foot past the deflector. Maybe helpful for shorter people.

From everything i've read the bug deflector does not do its job of deflecting bugs .. several reviews say its useless. The only plus about the AVS one mentioned above is it does not attach directly to painted surface of hood ... the matte black one attaches using double sided tape directly to the hood. I had a Lund bug deflector on my last truck but have decided not to put one on my new Tacoma

Just added a AVS Aeroskin. It Is very low profile and the matte matches the look of the rest of the truck. I got it to protect against rock chips. Not sure how effective it would be as a bug deflector.

Been looking on the web sites for the AVS Areoskin hood protector in the "matte" finish but all I can find are the "smoke." You have a link where you got yours?

I think I paid a little more than what you can find on autoanything but I'm impatient and wanted the one day shipping and Saturday delivery.
