OK guys be gentle! I'm a newbie AND a old -fart. Nothing highly technically asked.

I want to level out my truck. Been reading and searching. Finally figured out what a 5100 was. Sounds like what I want to do. Just bring the front end up to the rear end height.

Will the 5100's change the ride quality? My 2500 Chevy HD has Rancho 9000's, I don't want a ride like they are when screwed up to the max. at nine.

I would expect a little stiffness but nothing major. My little bride would give me hell if I screwed the ride up.

What setting do you plan on running? 0.85" should level it out and ride just a tad firmer. Most prefer the ride after, but don't go max height setting or your ride will be stiff.

My set up is 5100's with OME x885 coils on my 2009 Double Cab Short Bed. Gave me about 2.5 inches of lift with a slight rake. I say that the 5100's gave me a much smoother ride compared to stock since it dampened hits much better than the stock struts and coils. The stock struts and coils were too weak in my opinion to handle the weight of a double cab.

I would recommend 5100's set at 1.75 with stock coils to level you out or upgrade to eibach 1.6" springs so you set the strut preload to 0 to give you a smoother ride.

1.75 will be where you want to be, not .85.

The ride at that setting isn't bad, but firm. You'll probably not mind it.

This is my truck when I had eibach 1.6" springs. In case you wanted a reference. I thought it rode about the same as stock with those.

OP, you want the .85 setting. You'll be pleased with the ride.

I missed him having an access cab.
For a DCSB/DCLB post 2014 MY its 1.75 for level FWIW.

I got 1.5" from .85 setting on my truck. So I know how that goes.

Oddly enough I was dead nuts 1.75" at that 1.75 setting.

Hey guys thanks for the quick response. Don't want to bounce my teeth going out over one of those N.Ga. mud holes.
