OK hooked it up. This is what I'm getting. Ground to chassis. The red wire to the red wire on the harness. Then the 2 wires from wire 17. The switch lights up. But when I drive, the light pulsates. Regardless if the button is pushed in or out. I know I have the right wire as when I put wire 17 back together the GPS works. Any thoughys?

You have the wiring diagram for the switch you are using? I will make a drawing of how it should be wired if you post it, then you can compare it to your installation.

I know this is in the 2nd gen forum, but is 3rd gen the same? 2017 TRD Pro with Entune system? If not, is there a similar hardness for the 16+?

Here it is. Let me know if I should get a close shot. And thanks again.

I have a 2017 TRD off road. With entune. And this harness works. I cut wire 17 and verified that GPS didn't work. Put back together and it worked.

Yes works. And JSHSLTR the OP is very knowledgeable. He made the harness and he is willing to help.

A little update for anyone who is curious about the source of the light illumination issue Braves95 is experiencing.
I believe posting this here will eventually help someone.

Many of these non-oem illuminated switches are wired the same way no matter their intended application(wire colors vary so ill not reference colors). This isnt necessarily specific to dual LED switches. One LED always powered when the switch is powered. The second LED is powered when the switch is depressed. Both LEd are powered from same voltage source. The switching of the second LED is done internally in the switch.

    4-wires

    1. Vin
    2. Vout
    3. +12v
    4. GND

Voltage I/O is simply a circuit interrupt. It breaks the wire or makes the wire depending on the position of the switch.

The +12V should be connected to either of the following depending on preference

    a) +12V on ignition (Always powered with ignition on. Second LED still only lights when switch is in ON position.)

    b) Dash illumination circuit + wire (On with headlights and dimmable with rest of dash lights. Second LED same behavior as option (a) but also dims)

NOTE #1: The +12v power for this illuminated switch should NOT be taken from this 28-pin harness. The voltage supplies on this harness arent designed to drive a couple of LED's on top of their original job. If im not mistaken, the MACC amp voltage is less than 12V (more like 6). These are 12V LED and the brightness is controlled by current limiting not voltage reduction. Low voltage will cause unstable operation of the LED. Sometimes it may come on normal, but more likely than not it will not operate properly (i.e. flicker).

NOTE #2/Disclaimer: The current draw for a single switch of this type is small and the dash illumination circuit should be able to handle it without fault. However, adding multiple illuminated switches may overload the dimmer circuit.

If anyone has any input, feel free. I am a fan of constructive criticism.

    Josh

Please verify this is compatible with your 13'. I have not checked if they have the 28 pin connector.

I did some looking around. It looks like the harness does fit the 2013, but the rear camera signal goes to rearview instead of the HU.

Sweet, I can use this to cleanly wire in a speaker level amp when I get my new speakers.

The speaker outs are on a different harness. Not trying to be a downer, but dont want you to purchase this then realize its not what you were looking for.

Oh thanks for telling me. I'm sure I would have figured that out when I started doing my research. I see now what functions use this harness on your main post.

I have a request in for a thread title change to remove the 2012+. It does fit 2012+ in other models but not 2012 Tacoma.
