Sorry guys, this is gonna be a lengthy one. It has been a while since I've posted, but that's not due to a lack of progress. I have gotten a hand full of improvements done on the rig lately and figured I should get them up here for y'all. I collected quite a stack of stuff for my birthday and Christmas, as well a few gifts to myself ;) I'll add some more pics tomorrow in the light.

I got my BlueSea fuse block installed last weekend, to alleviate some of the wiring mess that was beginning to build up. This was quite the adventure, pretty simple and straight forward... Except I kinda fucked up and ended up frying my CB (rookie mistake) but luckily that was all the damage. Besides the smell of burnt electronics in my truck for a few days.

I've got a new CB on the way and it should be here Monday or Tuesday. Decided to upgrade a bit this time around, though. Ended up going with a Cobra 29 LX (pretty stoked) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004RO3RBE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I chose this model primarily because it had some impressive features, including a built-in SWR meter, and great reviews. I'll get some pics and post about it as soon as I get it installed.

I also go some Redline Tuning hood struts installed. I'm pumped on these, seeing as I am too short to open the hood otherwise now that the truck is lifted.

I installed some 2" Square Rough Country CREE LEDs on CBI ditch brackets. These things are excellent for the price. They were highly recommended from a buddy that has been running them for 2 years without an issue, or a single drop of condensation in em. I did run into a minor issue with the first kit, but when I reached out to Rough Country they asked for pics, and sent out a new kit that day. Excellent customer service, I can't say enough about how great they treated me and handled my issue with pure ease.

I added a fire extinguisher and got a bracket that mounts it under the front of the passenger seat as well. This thing is pretty slick.

I got some window deflectors on as well. I had originally wanted to order a set of weather tech deflectors but was at Advanced auto parts for some electrical connectors and saw they had a set of AVS deflectors in stock for half the price and figured I'd give em a shot. The guy said if I don't like em, bring em back for a full refund, so I figured what the hell.

I also got a set of Domello sliders, but I have yet to get them installed.

And I got the new CB installed today! I can't express how stoked I am for this. I still need to get out of town and tune it but otherwise, she's good to go.

I mounted this one differently from the last based on some lessons learned with the last one.

The last one was in the center console which was cool day to day but a pain in the ass to actually use on the trail, cuz the console had to stay open the whole time.

He said he used a dremel and a body panel saw... lot of people recommend using a jig saw with a fine blade...

Finally worked myself up enough to do some cutting on the taco today. And the result is no more rubbing! Still need to trim the front but I'll likely wait until I get a bumper on there to match the angles.

But now it kinda looks like I need longer rear shocks :(

I'm running the pro comp shocks that came with the lift. But when we flex tested it today, the driver side shock was about 3/4" from max compression and the passenger side was about 2"+ off the ground. So I'm thinking i need some longer ones, maybe by about 3 inches ... may as well add resi's too hehe

How extended are they though? I'm already running a 6" lift... so I'm gonna need like 9+ inches extended.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
If you have 3/4" of compression left, those shocks are probably sized correctly for the lift. You can take one of the shocks off and measure total length, then put it back on and do your flex test and measure to see if it is in fact your limiting factor. If it is, you can do a flex test with no shocks to see what length you may need. Just be careful not to over extend your brake lines and wheel sensor wires while you're at it. If you do go with a longer shock, you will most likely need to increase the height of your bump stops so that you are not fully compressing the shocks and they are acting as bump stops.
