I paid $31k for my 2014 three years ago and got offered $29k in trade w/ 36k miles on it. Gotta love that!

This is my first Tacoma purchased in 2011. I had three diesels full size pickups prior to this. I love this truck even though is has quirks that everyone is familiar with. I will say I love the 4.0 and the auto transmission. That said, if I had to replace soon, I am not sure it would be a Tacoma with the 3.5. I understand Toyota most likely went this route because of EPA pressures, but I like a motor with torque. I hope there are additional motor choices in the future for the Tacoma or I will be looking at other options.

I like my truck. I use it to tow my boat.

My favorite vehicle (so far, and I've owned 11) is a 2011 Infiniti G37S Limited Edition. Malbec black, red leather interior, KW variant 3 coilovers, Enkei RPF1 Matte Forged aluminum rims, cross drilled rotors, street racing brake pads and blue brake fluid. That car was a 328 hp 6 cylinder rocket ship, that cornered on rails. It wasn't the fastest in a straight line, but what it lacked in break away speed it made up in its ability to take corners without slowing much.

My Tacoma is a utility vehicle. I don't love it, I need it.

That's a pretty good price for a Tacoma before they even invented metal....jk ;)

Oh ha! I didn't catch that. Well they are known for their reliability. I used to have a trebuchet in the back to ward off dragons lol!

used with 52k. Everything stock. looks great. People tell me it looks new. Honestly the issues to me, are more than likely quite normal, like the rough ride and what I feel as vibes

I was really hoping for a stellar, in depth, thought provoking, loin tingling review.... but two words in I got bored and realized this review was way too long.

You know why every man isn't 12"? He'd think he was a ruler...

Stupid how people buy a small pickup and then bitch about it not being powerful enough. LOL Yes, my Tacoma is woefully under powered. But it wasn't built to race, nor pull the space shuttle through NYC for TV commercials. It was built to be light weight, nimble, and for taking on outdoor adventures off the beaten trail. You don't need tons of HP to do that.

I think honestly its actually all normal.. Everything is clean, and feels tight. Because its little things that everyone complains about at some point. And things that irritate me. I just compare to my 04 chevy, which has been an awesome truck. Got 170k miles on it. Never any real issues. It always rode rough, because it was lowered stiff suspension. My my Tacoma 4x4 which I bought for off road, rides rougher even on my gravel driveway. I really really hope its just the stock original tires that are still on it. The steering clunks, which I helped with the zip tie thing, but still not great. The brakes rattle.. Which everyone says is normal. They do on my chevy some, but its not hard to fix, You just bend the spring back tight again. But no one seems to have a fix for the Tacoma. Its just normal. The leaf springs rattle, which everyone says is normal. I'm not use to the lack of power.. Consider the chevy is a 5 speed manual supercharged/cammed with 500 at the tires. And it gets 18 mpg down the highway. Now this new v6 with about 200 hp at the tires and still only gets about 19 down the highway. and the engine is noisier than the 600 lift cam in the v8. Which people say is normal. The oil leak I hope was abnormal. Had to replace the front crank seal. But the chevy at 170k still has no leaks. Compared to 52k and a terrible oil leak on the Tacoma. Ive had to tear about the blower motor twice because its noisey as heck. I'm just having a hard time warming up to it. But ive been driving the chevy for 11 years now, with no major issues. And now this. I just expected more because its a "Toyota". I aint getting rid of it or nothing. Just gotta let it grow on me. Lift it with better suspension. Tires and wheels. And just drive. Maybe get off road more. So long as these issues are actually just normal, and don't get worse.. then its all good. Just hard getting used to those things being normal

None of that sounds normal to me. At least not for my truck or any of my (many) friends Tacomas.
