My 1999 Tacoma was getting a little long in the tooth (220k plus miles) so it was time for an upgrade. In May 2016 I picked up a used 2011 DCSB.

    The day I bought it:

Less than 24 hours into owning it the mods started. I had a planned trip in Sept 2016 to go back to Moab. I added some quick mods:

    • Armor (ARB bumper, and Marshal Fab sliders)
    • Better traction (255/75r17 Cooper AT3s)
    • A canopy for storage
    • Suspension Lift (2016 Front Coils)

Ham body mounted under the seat (Yaesu Ft7900r)

Stole my homemade Blue Sea fuse panel from my 1999 Tacoma:

    Added Marshal Fab sliders:

After that the mods slowed down a bit. I sold the Leer Canopy. It was blue and didn't match. It had some cracks in the fiberglass, so it wasn't worth it for me to fix and paint.

Then, I bought a house in Nov and that took a bite out of the funds. But I do have an upcoming trip in Colorado planned for Summer 2017, so things will be slowly added.

After a nice day of snow wheeling on Colockum Pass, I hit a chain link and destroyed my 255/75r17's.

Hi-Lift action (they are heavy, and a bit dangerous, but worth it when you need it)

So I upgraded to 275/70/17's and put them on some FJ Cruiser take off wheels.

Copying @Crom I added some US Cargo Control tracks to the bed (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...eed-more-tie-down-spots.427896/#post-12300982). I had a set in my 1999 Tacoma and they are worth drilling every hole, and that is a lot of holes to drill in an otherwise nice bed...

Thanks! I've read though your build as well. Looks like a great rig. Thanks for the L-track pattern. Last time I just had two 4' strips. This looks more useful to hold down my fridge and cargo.

The line didn't look that bad going into it, then things when downhill fast (literally). There was a slant that I knew I did not have the approach/departure angle to make, so I tried to go around it. There was a dip where the front tire landed that looked a lot less deep that it was. Before I knew it the truck was only on two diagonal wheels and teetering. There was some pucker factor there, haha.

    Another angle:

Finally found a canopy after 5 months of looking. Origionally I had bought a Leer 100r off CL that was in poor shape, but I needed something to secure my gear for Moab in Sept 2016. When I got back home after the trip, I sold it because it was too expensive to fix the holes in the fiberglass and repaint it. Was not worth it to me. So the search continued until last week when this came along:

Trying to find a DCSB canopy in MGM in the Pacific Northwest is TOUGH. Took me 5 months of scouring CL and offerup. I looked everywhere between Bellingham/Vancouver to Portland, and over to Spokane. Eventually one showed up right down the street.

    StugTop Rebel:
    • Color matched paint
    • Carpet liner
    • Tinted sliders (would like to add a Windoor at some point)
    • LED dome light
    • LED tail light
    • Single center handle
The canopy eventually needs a rack. I would like a way of carrying my canoes. Right now I have Yakima bars and mounts for the cab. I need to add in a track and use some control towers.

I added the Anytime-On Rearview Camera mod: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...itch-on-dash-mod.179242/page-14#post-14234872 Thanks to @Robman for all the help with the SPST switch wiring!

I've been traveling for work for a few weeks, but managed to get in some upgrades to the Tacoma along the way.

Panavise mount and RAM X- Grip for my phone/GPS:
    WP_20170211_002.jpg

I also upgraded my older Norcold MRFT440 to a newer Norcold MRFT40 (rebadged Engel MT45). It was a good fridge, but the 110v had recently stopped working and I scored a deal on the Engel. Now I just need a transit bag for it.

Went to firestone for an alignment this morning. Looks like the numbers aren't too bad. Handles just fine which is nice.

    Untitled picture.jpg

I've been trying to look up numbers and looks like my camber and toe are okay since they are supposed to be as close to 0 as possible. The Caster looks off and that number I cannot seem to find an accurate source for.

Its been a while since I updated. The lift is working out great. I took it for a shake down run on Clockum Pass here in WA. Handled it great. Had to do a once over and tighten some bolts, but otherwise no issues.

I have been meaning to pick up a winch for a while. I was going back and forth between the Warn VR and M series. I don't plan on using it a ton, but wanted reliability when I did need it. I ended up picking up two used M8000's off Craigslsit for $165 (one for $100 the other for $65) I plan on rebuilding both and running one.

Here is the $100 one before I cleaned it up (unfortunately I did not take an after photo)
