Has anyone had difficult balancing these tires? Discount tire mounted me TRD wheels with 265/70/17 and couldn't get a balance out of some of the tires.

Because they couldn't come to balance- they simply put small weights in the wheel to counteract..

Yes. Also at Discount Tire here in Atlanta. Ultimately I asked them to replace the two rears after having them indexed and road force balanced and still not balancing out. If you're not happy with the outcome, askthem to swap out the tires and re-balance, they'll do it no problem.

Question for those with this tire, given the stiffer LT rating, even in C load, what pressure have y'all found to be ideal? I started at 36 which warmed up to 38 and it was too rough. Just aired down to 33 cold and will try that tomorrow. The door spec calls for 29.

Thanks for the input. I haven't been unhappy by any means, and the tires seem to be wearing just fine. With 4,000 miles on them now. Only dislike the the weights they mounted on the inside of my rims to counter the inability to balance.

If I start to. Price index or uneven wear, I'll go in and see if they can do anything.

So far I've been riding at 40psi and that seems to work for me.

Finally got on my OEM 17-in 4Runner TRD Pro matte black wheels, BFG LT265/70R17 All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and OEM chrome lug nuts and OEM wheel locks installed (sorta)

Next weekend, I'll be removing the factory tint on the front windows and redoing it darker. I'm torn between 15% all around or 15% on the front and 30% on the back over the smoked glass. Still waiting for my TRD Pro grill to arrive as well... It's backordered until end of Feb. The first one I received from the dealer had 2 broken tabs on one side. I got it for 1/2 cost as part of the deal for the truck so around $200 after tax.

Now for the fiasco with mounting and balancing these damn wheels. I bought the wheels from the dealership directly since they price matched an online price from another dealership. The tires were purchased online from 4WP. Wheels never left the dealership and went from Parts to Service. I did it at the dealership hoping for better quality (boy, was I wrong). They tried to charge me the cost for two sets of mount and balance fees (argument was that they have to unmount stock tires to get TPMS - my argument was they'd still remove them even if it was just new tires without new wheels). I finally won that one. Next, they installed the new tires on stock wheels the first time (with new wheels already paid for nowhere to be seen) so they had to redo it. The next day I went to pick it up again. They had the new wheels and tires on the truck finally but all four wheels had scratches on each rim (faint but definitely there) from poor installation. Once I inspected my stock wheels that they removed, they had even more damage from poor work. Long story short after 4 days without my truck, truck is currently on old scratched Pro wheels, dealership refunded me the full service cost, they are buying me new Pro wheels AND new stock wheels since they were less a month old (several days or more till they show up), I'll take the truck elsewhere to have the new Pro wheels installed, and then I'll return the old Pro wheels to them...

Sounds like a real pain in the ass for sure... but, the truck looks badass! Now your really need to ditch that chrome grill.

Waiting for my replacement Pro grill to arrive.. first one had broken tabs. Since it was coming from the dealership, I figured may as well get a replacement. They then said two month wait due to a backorder. Getting very impatient! Trying to convince them to give me the broken one anyways while we wait. If they won't, I may plastidip the chrome grill for now. Trying to decide if I want to remove the pillar tape so that the blue underneath shows. I also can't decide if I want to remove the Tacoma door emblems or plastidip them black... The chrome is a nice offset especially with the chrome lugs but I do really like a clean look but I also like the black to match the wheels. Errrr

    Thanks!

I ordered it from my local dealership and got 1/2 of cost price as part of the deal of buying my truck. I believe Toyota of Cool Springs had the best prices I could find on any OEM parts. You can see if your local dealership will pricematch (saves shipping and tax cost). My dealership was willing too. They may be the best price even with shipping.

Paid $200.63 after Florida sales tax (half of dealer cost so $187.50 since dealer cost is $375 FYI) as a part of the deal when I bought the truck on 12/22/16. Grill arrived on 1/5/17 but with two broken tabs (BTW I think they fixed the packaging finally so this should stop happening). I returned it but they then told me it's backordered until end of February... Parts manager finally said I can use this one for now until the new one arrives so I picked it up last week. I used some Loctite for plastics and it was fixed with no problems (probably not required anyways since there are so many tabs). If the dealership gives me the new grill, I'll likely sell it new in the box (keep an eye out!). If they say they need the old one back, I'll likely just tell them it's fine so that I don't have to go through the hassle and because the 'broken' one works fine.

Darker tint coming this weekend! Just finished removing chrome Tacoma door badges and replaced the bedside decals with all-black ones tonight.
