    Hello,

I'm from the Los Angeles area and I own a 2008 DBL Cab silver TRD Sport 4X4. Bought brand new in 2008. My truck is completely stock.

I've always wanted to lift or get a leveling kit on my truck. The problem is that I don't know what brand is good, a reliable shop to get it all installed, etc. So I just kinda left it stock and forgot about it.

But now I have the "itch" of getting things done to my truck.. lift, rims, tires, exhaust, intake and was wondering if you guys can lead me to the right direction.

For example, which brands are good quality and brands I should stay away from.

Also, is "SCS" wheel company a good brand? I'm seeing a lot of people here talking about them.

    Thank you guys in advance!

Welcome! Everybody has a different plan, use and budget. Most members will say to stay away from a spacer lift and go with kings, fox, icon, bilstein and a few other quality brands. Keep researching and look at a few builds, get some ideas and you will find what you are looking for. Remember, "buy once cry once", so take some time to plan it out.

Enjoy the site and good luck with your mods!!

Thank you for the response. I'm trying to keep mostly everything OEM. For example, TRD Rims, TRD exhaust, TRD intake.

For lifts or leveling kits, how's toytec? I like the idea because they only work on Toyotas.

That's a good idea. Thank you.
Also, if you're from SoCal area, any recommendations on shops that work on installing lifts and leveling kits?

    Thx!

    Hey there!
Give me a call we can definitely get a kit thats good for what your wanting to do with the truck. We have many different options for the 2nd gen Tacomas and can get you a very nice setup.
As far as wheels SCS is a very good and reputable company that uses wheels specifically designed for Toyotas.

One place to check out is Headstrong offload, and email them and talk to marie, you tell him what you want for lift and he completely tells you what you might like and will need for your truck and the size you want! Pleasure to work with.
