I'll use a car wash to get the undercarriage clean a few times during the winter but usually wash it myself, but anyway the attendant would remove the antenna for me before going through. I have since added a bluetooth headunit and never re-installed the antenna, just use Spotify.

Side note: on that commercial with the bed damage on the aluminum Ford, I bet if they both had bed liners neither would have any damage.

    I like this part:
"UPDATE: Ford has released a statement about the incident. “This was a unique incident and appears to be specific to this car wash. Ford engineering and customer service teams have not seen an incident like this during development or real-world customer use.”"

haha no issue with our truck, just that ONE car wash is to blame

Yup. Amazing, and kinda sad that the owner of that truck found the ONE car wash in the ENTIRE country that would do that to their recycled beer cans on wheels...

I think @OZ-T mentioned something I never thought about before. They recycle the water for those car washes. So all the salt that's being washed off is just being sprayed back on. Something to think about.

Big rigs have used aluminum bodies for decades without problems. This is hardly new technology. Chevy is going to aluminum in a couple of years and others will likely follow. Hoods on certain models have been aluminum for a while.

I drove Semis for decades, and yes, a lot of the body parts are aluminum or fiberglass. The point was it's best to remove your antenna when going through a car wash...
