I just got done putting the bilstein 5100 lift kit on the truck and took it the full 3" in the front with the 2" aal in the rear. Took me two days because I ran into to problems but I finally got it on. So I take it out for the first ride after the install (and even though I was expecting a stiffer ride) it is super bumpy. I was driving the speed limit but if I had a drink in the cup holder and hit a big pot hole I'm sure the drink would be on my floor board. Is it supposed to be that bumpy? Any input would help. This is my first post and I've read a fair amount of the lift posts but haven't seen anything about this. Any input would help. Thanks

what coils are you running? if you just have 5100's with no coils to attain the lift and have it set to the highest setting, that may be the reason why your ride is super bumpy.

I'll post pics later on. It's dark as hell right now. And I'm saying I just got done putting this on at 830 pm today 12/14. I'm making an appointment to get an alignment tomorrow and asking to take a look at what i did. Idk if something is wrong or not this is the first big mechanically thing I've done. I was thinking I'd save myself the $100/hour charge these lift certified shops are charging here in St. Louis

What notch did you set the 5100's at? Those Eibach coils should only be put on the .85"(2nd notch) setting.

For what it's worth I'm running those coils without any preload on 5100's. They are a lot firmer than stock but in a good way. I did take off my sway bar so your mileage will vary if you still have it on.

My sway bar is still on. With the aal that I put on did raise the rear where I wanted it to so I thought that putting these springs to the highest setting would be about the same because these trucks sit nose forward but after putting the front in it's sitting higher than the back. But the bump is to much.

At this point when you can put it back to the 2nd setting. I'm not familiar with the eibach springs. If the spring lifts the truck 2 inches the. Set it to the 2nd setting.

I have the same truck as you and I have 2 inches all around. Slight rake ( rear high ) but that's how I wanted it.
