THIS is why you clean out your valve stems before airing up. You probably got ice in the valve core and it melted overnight...doh

Edit..I usually blow air at them first. I've never seen any one else do it though.

Edit 2....this happened to me at least

@thefatkid So I've been having issues with starting. Seems like I'm holding the key a little longer to start. This morning I started the truck backed it out of the garage. Turned it off for a sec then tried starting it again and it really hesitated. Would it be just because of the cold?

might be moisture in the gas, could try a bottle of HEET or similar. Won't hurt to run it thru just for kicks. ethanol in the gas attracts moisture too, so it's a good idea to do it once in awhile anyway in the winter.

Start and then shut down in subfreezing temperatures without fully warming the engine can cause flooding. Flooded engines require more cranking time or even possible flood clearing to start.

Dirty MAF in cold temperatures can cause extended cranking.

If you don't drive a lot and still have summer fuel, that can cause extended cranking.

Sometimes it's just fucking cold and your truck is old like you, aches and pains bro.

Heet is just another family member of ethanol. Alcohol of all types is hygroscopic so ethanol is already drying the fuel, not saying that it has not reached its saturation point.

Heet is one of our #1 fuel contamination issues in the winter. People like to add enough to get to 25% alcohol content when the tanks are low. Feedback cars don't like that. Only add heat to suspect full tanks and hope for the best.

Does anybody run e-free exclusively? I'm fortunate to have an e-free pump on the corner. Trucks love it..It's 87, they have an 89 e-free down the road but I've never tried it.

Hey @TMFF how is your project coming along? Are you documenting any of it? I'm finally not mad at myself for selling it but it took me finding another:/ I look forward to seeing it.

I tried it once in my truck a winter or two ago. There's a shell here that sells it, think they call it Super 88 or something like that.

The added cost of the fuel far outweighed any benefit in performance or mileage.

There's a Shell outside of Silverthorne on the way to Steamboat, I believe, that sells it.

Happened to fill up there once by happenstance... my truck's mpg was noticeably higher.
