I created a thread a couple days ago to do a fender flare swap. After some reading, it seems like a pain in the ass to remove those flares. I was against plasti dipping them because I'm unsure of how well it will hold up and wanted the textured look from the factory offroad ones. So now, i figure I can just plasti dip them and if I dont like it I can always swap them out for actual offrod fender flares. Doesn't seem like too much of a hassle to do it. I was wondering if the fender flares on the sport are identical to the offroad ones and the only difference being the finish and texture. If they're physically the same, I'm just going to plasti dip them.

I am pretty sure the only difference would be that the Sport ones are painted.

    It's getting there.

Anything I've plasti dipped has turned out well, but this is sound advice. Prep work is where you make it awesome. Take time to mask, clean, and make sure the temperature where you spray is decent, and you will get a solid result.

    It's getting there.

That guy Fonzi from DipYourCar on youtube has done some amazing projects over the years. His company can be a little overpriced, and overstated on some of their products, but the youtube videos are free and the information about cleaning and prep work is mostly solid.

Plastidip holds up surprisingly well, I had my grill plastidipped for months and over 10k miles and it help up great.

Only thing to remember is plastidip will fade after time especially in the summer days with the sun beating on the plastidip so you might have to use some type of armor all or 303 spray to keep the plastidip looking "fresh"
