Oh gawd those Hewitt discussions are painful. But good to know there are well documented threads about this and I know what to listen for or investigate if something happens. It seems it is very rare for the 2015s to have an issue, and they are covered under warranty, unlike the 2012 specific year, apparently. I think I'm good installing the better filter as a simple, inexpensive preventative measure for protecting this fragile system from destroying itself.

Thanks, Stinky Winky. Yeah, I think you are right. But thanks for the effort.
No, I don't think so. They're meant for thin stock and to continue cutting. A chamfer bit will provide a continuous, consistent angle around the circumference of thick stock at a precise depth. For my situation, it will need to be precisely handled on a press with depth stops.

    Hey fuck all you fucks.
ARB only sent me one clip service pack, waiting for the second one before I reassemble.

I actually had time to open the JBA UCA box yesterday. And look at stuff. I actually have concerns about the way the steel bushing sleeves were fabricated. Or more accurately, hacked. And no special tool included for the rebuildable BJ. It takes a pin spanner of some sort. In his video, he shows a billet adapter of some sort, I would hope to accept a 3/8 drive for torquing the recessed external thread cap. Finally, the bolts fastening the BJ to the arm are too short. It is clear that when snugged down, the nylock nuts will have little if any thread sticking out. The bolts are 1 inch, and would be better at 1.25 inch.

I'll be giving JBA a call.

And I almost ordered more shit, but got sidetracked.

    That's a buzzkill.

Here's hoping for a continuance of JBA support.

So keep in mind that these bushing sleeves will be up against washers against the UCA bolt pivot point on the frame, a point of rapid and constant micro-rotations while driving under any conditions.
I could tell something wasn't right, but it was hard to tell exactly what until I dicked around a bit.

    Hmmm.

    Blarg!

    Dreck

Here you can see the cutting/grinding wounds and poor chamfering on the ends of the bushing sleeves. All were like this to some degree. They came in a sealed plastic packet with the elastomer bushing, likely from some third-party vendor. The bushings themselves fit very well and snugly into the UCAs and the sleeves fit very snugly into the bushings. But the ends appear to be hacked by child labor with a handheld grinder, or something like that.
