I'm moving up to 275s pretty soon once I order my Dakars. From everything I've experienced and read on here you'll need 3" for 285s.

Thoughts on the OEM Audio? Is it worth the price?

I hear ya. Got to pay to play somewhere though. ECT and possible CAI will be my friends to keep em rolling. Cooper makes a c rated 275 in the Discoverer S/T. It's nice tire.

I REALLY want the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I love Nittos. Had a lot of success with them. oh well, I guess we cant have everything.. i'm not about to lift my Pro. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying a Pro. Small(er) tires for me I guess. Thanks for your help

In my opinion, absolutely worth it. The sound quality over stock is amazing. It definitely fills out the cab. It'd be nice if they had an option for add a 10" sub using the opposite side of the cab, or maybe another 8", but that's nit picking. Given the limited amount of space, the product works nicely. The stock speakers are garbage, the tweeter had bigger magnets than the door speakers.

In my chevy i had the rockford 10" and dsp amp and it was awesome, but it was a bigger truck with room under the seats lol.

Install was straight forward, only the rear side panel gave me any trouble. If the truck came sounding like it does with it, I wouldn't have thought about spending money on upgrading it, so I'd say it was well worth what I spent.

Some will argue you can get more for the money, but in this case I think the work they did developing this setup is worth the few extra dollars. There are a couple of reviews on these forums I read in-depth before pulling the trigger, and they are all pretty accurate, and I'm happy with it.

No problem, glad to help. I'm sure whatever you get will look awesome.

Thx for the input. I like that it's a plug and play upgrade. After years of making my own custom systems I'm pretty much burned out on it. Pulling and popping off plastic panels is enough work as it is. Guess I'll add this to the mods list.

I pretty much felt the same way. If you fond someone in your area that has it, I'd definitely give it a listen. I think the DSP is what makes all the difference. My volume stays pretty much in the teens now and it's pretty loud and clear, with good mids and enough bass to fill out the sound.

Technically Timnath. But yeah. Lived in the Fort for 9 years and then moved to a quieter area! I love Red Feather. My buddy owns 40 acres up there with a Yurt..we go up there a fair amount to chop wood and then burn it!

Installed my own little CAI with the flux capacitor (TRD intake flow accelerator) and AFE Pro Dry air filter. The TRD piece is the same piece off their Tacoma CAI, bought both pieces for about $85.00 and took about 15 minutes to install. I saw someone posted the TRD piece was the moneymaker for the CAI set, really didn't want to spend $400.00.

Really can't tell any difference, maybe a little more responsive, but always fun tinkering and experimenting on your truck. Also installed the Rav4 convex mirrors to both doors.

What's your buddy's first name? I might know him. Not to many people that live in Red Feather that own 40 acres.

I got the dry one, not a big fan of oiled filters.

For those of you looking for a lightweight 285 70 17, the Toyo Open Country AT II, which basically looks like the Nitto and is the same company, is only 50 pounds if you get it with the white letters.:)

I think the Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx is also C in a 275, but could be in the discontinued stage so low stock.

Took the truck out on some trails on a friends property. Tires did well, crawl control did okay. Ended up just having to power through a fair amount of it.

We also followed a shortcut that was marked closed, and figured out why about 500 m from our destination... apparently there used to be a bridge there, so we found our own way around it.

    Neat.
