I have a humming noise which starts at 30 mph and gets pretty loud at 65. It actually quiets down at about 85. Brand new tires and alignment 12/15/2016. This noise was present before new tire, I had just thought it was old tires (had 58 k on them). On long ramping right turns noise all but disappears, but returns as soon as truck resumes tracking straight. I've heard because of the load on left wheel it should be left front wheel brg. But the other argument being load taken off right wheel on right turn might quiet brg down. Just got done jacking truck up no unusually play or sound (outside of brake/rotor). Recently ordered a complete hub/ bearing assembly, just don't know what side to start with first. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Best idea is to do both, since if one is bad, the other might not be too far behind...If you are gonna jack it up for one, go for both. Did you check with Bamatoy for his bearing sets?

Lift front of truck off the wheels. Spin the wheels by hand and listen. You will usually be able to tell which one. Also you can grab tire at 12 and 6 and check for play.

You can lift the truck and take a long extension between your ear and the inside of the spindle. Call me crazy but it's just like using a stethoscope

Sometimes it can be hard to detect a bad bearing if it's not too worn, but it will only make noise with a load on it. Go for both.

Yeah ordered the assembly thru him and I rebuild the one I take out. Nothing like sitting on barn floor in 20 deg weather, but better than spending 1000 bucks. Thanks for your input.

I'm gonna change this assembly out by the the 4 bolt method not by taking the whole knuckle out. Anybody have any big time difficult getting the bearing housing out. I live in ny state (salt land). Any pro or cons on either way of installing?
