Lol. Holy shit man. I'm sorry but pit bulls scare the crap out of me....now they REALLY scare the crap out of me. I'm all for the 'no bad dogs, only bad owners' thing but when your dog has 15 lbs. of jaw muscle and the intellect of a jackhammer you are completely effed if you piss him off. Lassie might give you a laceration but Butch there will amputate your friggen arm. Yet another reason to carry my Glock...

Gray wire, Some lights in the bed area, and some character marks throughout.
Killer bees go for the face and head of a target.
    Cats go for the throat.
Dogs, unless hunting in a pack, go for the throat.
If hunting in a pack one usually goes for the legs to take down the target and then another goes for the throat.
Snakes eat their prey head first, as do fish.

It is well known in most, if not all, animal species that the head is the best place to go for when attacking. It makes for the quickest kill. It is instinct.

I am guessing what happened was that the guy got knocked down by the dog, or fell trying to get away. When he fell the dog tried to grab his head, but couldn't get it due to the guy fighting back. When the dog finally got the head in his jaws, the guy continued to fight and the dog kept holding on until there was no fight left.

As soon as the guy turned to run, he activated the predatory nature of the dog and it was all over. Had he just calmly walked backwards away from the dog, he probably would have survived. It is no different then any predatory animal, as soon as you run you become prey.
This holds true to ANY breed of dog.

Sucks to be the dude, but if he was a burglar, he got what was coming to him. I'm not a fan of the APBT's, I've seen one go "nuts" and get violent on a child that had been just playing ball with the dog. Granted thats just one dog.

I think the biggest issue with them is the owners. Way too many wanna be gangster types have them and probablly treat them poorly which doesn't help things. Or do stupid shyt which has the potential to make them even meaner.

I'm pretty sure my dog would do a good job ruining your day, and I have 2 poodles that most of you on first thought are probably laughing at. But, that would be a mistake. I have Standard Poodles, Zeus is 28" at the shoulder and weighs about 80lbs. The one I had growing up was even bigger, that one was 32 1/2" at the shoulder and 110lbs. Very family protective and social animals. But god help you if you get between them and their people... It's like a pissed off Shepard with a perm...

Like the one guy mentioned about the K-9 cops comment, I agree with that, you can be as badass as you want, but you'll scream like a little bytch when my partner catches you....

Poor breeding has a lot to do with the Bully breed becoming Human aggressive. Everyone wants to breed these dogs, the breed and their owners suffer. If you run across a person selling their dogs on the side of the street or for thousands of dollars avoid them they are trying to make a buck. I can find damn good dogs for $300 all day long. BYB (back yard breeders) are our biggest problem.

Those are some bad ass poodles, you just don't see the full sized ones any more, may be a good thing, keeps their lines clean.

my sister has three pit bulls and a 120lb Shepard. Those pitts are the most tame animals ever. They roll on their back and want nothing but to play. Ill see them hanging from a rope on a tree sometimes- five feet off the ground! They are playful, but very strong. my pit mix is 50 lbs and is all muscle. she has no problem knocking 100 lb dogs down when they play. hell, she knocks me back if she jumps on me when playing.

As was said earlier in the thread, backyard breeders and bad owners are 99% of the cause of bad Pitbulls.
A lot of legitimate Pit breeders actually need Shepherds or Dobermans to guard their Pitbulls from being stolen as true Pits are overly human friendly.
