Hi All, I have a 2012 Quad cab TRD Taco. I just ordered TRD matte black wheels with 265/70/17 BFGs All Terrain tires. I was thinking of doing a body lift around 2" and adding wheel spacers. Any thoughts or recommendations from anyone?
    Thanks.

You might have better luck in the 2nd gen section. This is the First gen section.

Any reason why you're considering a body lift over a suspension lift? Body lifts leave an ugly gap between the body and frame as well as body to bumpers.

    Also this.

Friends don't let friends install body lifts...go with a suspension lift and do it proper.

Body lifts are cheap and can be dangerous (probably not at 2" but still), and they just look bad in my (and probably most everyone's) opinion. Not to mention, you aren't gaining any real clearance since the frame is still sitting at stock height.

I assume your considering one because you're not looking to spend a lot, so I'd recommend to look into the Bilstein 5100 shocks for the front/rear. The fronts are adjustable up to almost 3" (not recommended to go that high with them but still better than a body lift). Throw an add-a-leaf in the rear and you're golden. That's a very basic way to lift your suspension but it's far better than a body lift, and can probably be done for around $500. Maybe less if you can score a deal. More if you decide to upgrade your coils.

I'll be the devil's advocate - Nominal body lifts can provide some benefits. The biggest benefit is increased clearance between body and transmission (bell housing). Sure is nice have an additional inch or so of room to get to those top bolts. Also, one can gain some additional clearance from tire to body/fender using BL's. If you are going to do it, do it right. Use quality components such as those you can obtain from Roger Brown / 4Crawler - http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/BodyLiftKit.shtml - Once you get over the terrible website appearance, there exists one of the best rundowns of body lifts (Pros and Cons).

    To each his own

If you must have a BL get one under 2". with those size tires on a 2nd gen i see no reason to get one over just doing some trimming.
