I have found a coolant leak on the bottom outlet on the coolant reservoir. It is only a small leak, it is leaking past the hose clamp and dripping on the inner fender. I have removed the lower hose and trimmed off as much as possible and tried 3 different hose clamps and nothing has worked. I did notice that the hose does not fit snug to the outlet, I feel the hose is slightly too large for the outlet. Has anyone had this issue? Also, does anyone know of a possible aftermarket reservoir?

Not my photo I pulled it from here, the outlet in question is in the red box.

    Update

Today I gathered all the parts and fixed this pesky leak.

    1. New coolant reservoir (ended up not using old reservoir wasn't cracked)
    2. 6" piece of 5/8" heater hose
    3. 4 new hose clamps 2 for 5/8" hose 2 for 3/4" hose
    4. 1 Brass Coolant Hose Connector 5/8" x 3/4"

The 5/8" hose fits MUCH better on the coolant reservoir it was so snug I had to add a drop of soap on reservoir to slide it on. I snipped about 1 1/2" off the 6" piece 5/8" hose and about 3" off the original 3/4" hose. Then spliced them together with the brass connector tightened down hose clamps and refilled the reservoir and took it for a spin and rechecked everything and NO MORE LEAKS! :yay:

    air and fuel
happens to all of them. Only solution is to get it tight and then put some "get it right" black sealant and seal the hose to the outlet. I did this and it worked for years

do not over tighten the clamp...it can crack the reservoir and it's a pita to find a new one.

Well thats disappointing, I guess I'll RTV the crap out of it then. Thanks Werty!

Also, Im gonna leave these links here for future reference. Second link is for a new supercharger coolant reservoir I believe there is no photo to verify but based on the part number, description and make and model matches it looks to be the correct part.

I went ahead and ordered a new coolant reservoir. I tried to RTV it and it is still leaking I believe I may have cracked the reservoir from over tightening the hose clamp. I'm going to take the new one to the parts store and see if I can get a better fitting hose that will also fit over the coolant pump. Or option 2 would be to fit a smaller hose onto the outlet of the coolant reservoir then add in a one way barb to go back to the orginial hose. I don't think that small reduction at the outlet would effect the volume of coolant being moved.

Let me know how that works for you!

I've actually noticed a little coolant seepage from the screw-on cap. Not much, but still......

I'm having this same problem, but on both sides of the coolant reservoir.

    Is that normal as well?

Is it leaking on the inlet and the outlet? Or the reservoir itself is leaking? It seems they all leak at the outlet apparently but I do not know of any other places there have been issues.

My top inlet has a minor leak. Pink around the hose, nor drip etc. Will be addressed when I take it in for the 1 year oil change. Yea, don't think they did to well on the design of the reservoir. Made fully formed plastic, the hoses are probably a bit too big and possibly flashing on the fittings make for easy leaks. My res has dropped less than .5" in 3 months, it helps I only have 1000 or less miles since the SC install. Early April I'll take it in, see what they do........ I will ask for the leftover coolant or make sure the dozen donuts I give to the service guy makes that happen........

My inlet and outlet is leaking on the reservoir. I'll give Mr.Gasket a shot.

I've inspected before and the reservoir itself is fine. Just seems that the hoses are too stiff to properly seal around the outlet/inlet.

Just finished installing the SC last weekend, and having a drip problem at the reservoir as well. Was planning on adding a second worm clamp toward the end of nipple of the reservoir. Hopefully blocking any coolant that is getting in between the nipple and hose.

Just noticed mine is doing the same thing. Gonna throw some tape on it and deal with it later. But probably do the hose fix mentioned above. Thanks @novanut21 for coming up with this.

I ended up using a non solid gasket sealer, and two worm clamps (one up near the reservoir, one towards the end of the nipple). Probably over kill. BUT, no more leaks.

I'm curious if an aftermarket aluminum tank is an option. Or if an aluminum pipe section with a heat sink would be advantageous for temp reduction? Or am I over thinking shit and opening up a situation for problems. Feedback welcomed.
