New winch and not a tree in sight to hook up to.

 

Would it still have counted as @eon_blue pulling him out if @Mike likes Tacos hooked his winch up to Ryan?

Fyi. With a shovel and a spare tire you can make an anchor point for winchinng. No need for a tree. With a winch, the right gear, and proper rigging knowledge one should never be stuck.

 

I'm going to have to read up on this one! Thats damn good to know for this desert boy....not many tree's out here.

 

Works great in the sand too. Kind of a bitch in the Rocky desert soil to dig a hole big enough to fit your spare tire into but if your stuck solo, you got nothing but time.

looked like the tow strap snapped and the tow hook flew back into the windshield like an enormous bullet. Never use a hook/tow strap for recoveries.

 

Don't get stuck alone! Pull your buddy into the mud, too!
