Hey guys. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a 17. I finally set in on the off road model. I was full in on blue for a while but that dam sand is nipping on me now. My question is how is the paint handling scratches and rock chips for those who have them? Thanks!

just don't get black and you should be fine. They put the paint on super heavy for the rocker panels to help against rock chips.

I think I read something about quicksand being very hard to paint-match if you ever need a respray. Oh, and it also doesn't have a clear coat due to the "dullish" paint colour? Don't quote me on that...

I was also told that BBP trucks have a white primer, so any scratches will be that much more visible (high contrast w/ blue).

Quicksand has clear coat.... Yes the paint is harder to match. I find myself even with my Dr. Color chip paint stuff, I have to add a little white to get it just right. Love the color though!!

My QS is holding up pretty good, minor chips and scratches hide fairly well. As an added bonus, dirt and pollen are barely visible. I have toyota touch up paint that matches perfectly for the few chips I've got so far.
