okay I'm new to this forum, so sorry if this is in the wrong spot. this is my second tacoma and I've read through 1,000 vibration threads and I need to post my specific problems and see what y'all think it could be.

About 3 months ago I sold my 2000 taco and bought a 2015 auto silver double cab trd off road from a lot with 30k miles. I love the truck but the vibrations are getting annoying, my truck is bone stock and I have a small takeoff vib around 1500 rpm that I feel in my seat, my steering wheel, and a little in the floor board, it becomes unnoticeable when towing. That one is not the end of the world, however That same vib will get worse (turns into a sharper vib similar to a misfire) through first gear (2500-4000 ish rpm) if I am hammered down, but completely goes away as soon as I hit second. I am clueless? I also have a vib if I'm cruising between 53 and 58 mph. it's not ALWAYS there and sometimes it's worse then others, but if I'm accelerating through that speed range it's mostly unnoticeable. However, often when breaking around the same speed I will get the same type of shake/vibration. Please help!

I do not hear any clanks/clunks/rattles/or noises I would consider abnormal or otherwise note worthy. And the truck drives/brakes/turns and runs perfect other than the above vibrations.

I put miles on my truck fast so I would love to get this taken care of (if possible) under my 36,000 mile warranty.

Thanks for the replies. Carrier bearing for sure? I mean are you thinking mine is bad Or is that just the best thing to replace to try and solve the problem?

Is your truck 4x4? If so see if the vibe goes away in 4wd. If it does it could be your driver side diff bearing.

I'm having a hard time finding "symptoms" of the ecgs bearing.
Yes my truck is 4x4 but I haven't tried driving in 4wd on anything but dirt, and the dirt has its own vibrations. I can test 4x4 this afternoon on pavement but I'd rather not go 55 in 4x4. And no it is short bed.

    Why isn't warranty covering this?

Warranty is going to cover it once I can get it to the dealership. I'm asking y'all so I have a better idea of what it could be before I go there because I assume they aren't going to want to fix it, it will be 'operating normally'

If you can reproduce the problem while your at the dealership warranty will cover it. No reason they won't want to fix it, Toyota pays the bill.

It's there job to figure it out. There won't be any expense to you when its covered under warranty unless you have done drive train modifications that could cause issues.

Well hopefully they will figure it out quickly because I can't really go a long time without my own transportation.

also go under your truck and grab the CV axle, ifit moves up and down it will be your cv and diff needle bearing. also like one of the other member said if you pop it in 4x4 and the hum or vibes go away it is your needle bearing.

Thanks for that info. And so what y'all are saying is I could potentially have any number of problems between the transmission and the wheels?

There is a tsb for that vibe issue and if u bitch enough they should replace your needle bearing to a stronger one since it's stock unless they wanna be a dick about it. If that happens email corporate.

yeah according to most peeps who got this done the TSB ended up saying it fix the issue. but for me they wouldn't do it cause I had a lift. which was bullshit but some had luck with lift as well so hopefully you will get yours done man GL
