lol they've been doing this on Jeeps for years using the same mount. I think I bought them from the Ford dealership for about $20 +-. Had to take them back because I needed more travel lol.

Might be able to notch, bend, then re-weld to bring them back against the bed for additional clearance.

Did you guys use any gussets behind the mount (on top of the frame)?

Also, after looking more thoroughly at your truck, do you have the "ratchet strap gas tank mod?" Lol

Great job @Rattletrap66 ! I'm curious about the longevity of the new shock towers (as others have mentioned). I'm a cheap bastard and am always looking for ways to DIY or find other solutions/ improvements to mods. Seeing as how the Ford towers look thinner (stamped steel) than the heavily reinforced and gusseted BAMF towers I wonder how these will hold up. I know you said they're plenty strong, but I also know you don't mess around when you wheel so lets see how they handle your abuse.
For $37 vs $120 ($95 on sale right now) I wouldn't mind welding in a gusset or two just for piece of mind.
    Either way,

They have been holding up well! Went on a 3 day trip up to Georgia back in December and didn't have any issues. Here are some videos of the stuff we went on.

Frank, @Rattletrap66 With the new shocks, did you gain more wheel travel?

Have you measured center hub to fender with your new setup?

    like this?

I did measure without any shocks, can't recall the exact numbers but it was close to 18" of travel. I can get some measurements with the shocks in for you this weekend

    Well that works too.

I calculated my max wheel travel at 13.25, while measuring fully compressed and at droop. Thanks.

@Crom where were your measurements taken from. When we get a little better weather, which is a term we don't use everyday, I'm going to put my Archive Shackle flip on then most likely go this rout. But before I do, I can measure from the same points to compare between your setup, the Chevy 63" swap, and the shackle flip. There will be some differences obviously due to the different leaf packs, but it will give a more definitive answer for comparison.

by the looks of the picture, top of the tire to the bedside but to be more exact with varying tire sizes, I would do center of wheel to bedside

edit: nvm, I guess it doesn't matter since you would be getting travel numbers from those measurements

I plan on removing my shocks and flexing the rear out, measuring a mocked up tower eye to eye at full droop/compression. I guess I could just measure what I have now, but I know my 5125's are already my limiting factor.

Hmm, that's right...you 2nd/3rd gen guys would have to measure for the shocks with the suspension fully articulated since the shocks are outboard of the springs where as those of us with the shocks inboard of the springs would just have to measure at full droop (and full bump), with no articulation. Interesting.

Center hub to fender at max compression 18.75"
Center hub to fender at max droop...........32.00"

Subtracting I got 13.25" of wheel travel.

I'm happy with what my truck does. :)
