Greetings from your newest newbie, TacoMatty.
2017 Super White SR5 4x4 short bed is on its way to Las Vegas. Its being shipped from Reno, NV.
Already ordered my color matched SnugTop Super Sport shell.
4" lift, XD Spy wheels and some fatter tires will be first. Probably nerf step up. Tint.
SO COMPLETLEY STOKED. Can I get an AMEN. LOL

Haven't got that far yet. Could use info on the sturdiest 4' available. Do I need bitchin shocks to go with it? My buddy Eric (black taco) said he added a leaf in back along with his 3" lift.
Go ahead y'all and throw down your best info. Want reasonably fat all terrain tires as well. I like the BFG KO 2. Don't want bicycle tires. Got to have some width. Perhaps 305 12.5 R18? Hmmm HMMMM????
    Cheers and thanks.

Fat tires are heavy, will kill your gas mileage. Not saying don't go that route, many do, just may compare the weight of a tall skinny just for kicks. Tall skinnys also (arguably) do better offroad (except mud/sand where you need flotation).

As for the lift, it's strongly recommend to keep it under 3".

Thanks Bannerman,... Looking for reasonable width. Is 12.5 too much? Don't want them to tall. On 18" XD SPY rims with the right setup (offset/backspacing)? Not interested in spacers at all. But I'd like the tires to have some girth. Ya know. Send a pic of what you got.

Also heard that BFG's are much lighter than other manufacturers. Thoughts?

    @TacomaMatty

Since my truck is 2wd I was able to use Maxtrac Lift Spindles (4") to gain my lift

Dakar leafs packs in the rear with extended length Bilsteins

The wheel and tire setup is from the factory (TX Edition)

I think we're all gonna be great cyber pals. Gonna make me an awesome truck, and with all the help I can get here. Oh lord. Gonna be so fun. I'm a tinkerer and pretty handy, so I can do some easy mods.

Okay. I want Pro Comp 305 60 R18 tires on 18" XD Spy rims. Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks (basically 3" lift) up front with an extra leaf spring in the rear.
You guys see any problem? Will it all fit? I know a 17" wheel and 285 70 R17 will fit. But I want a little larger rim. And the tire looks SWEET!!! What do you all think?

Thanks man. Still not sure I'm going with that big of a tire. I don't have the truck yet. Gonna have one more chat with the guy at 4 Wheel Parts. And make a final decision. Pics, for sure are comin.

    Truck will be here tomorrow.
305 60 R18's on XD Spy rims will rub the suspension.
So I'm going with BFG KO 2 -
    285 70 R18
    Bilstein 5100 adjustable up front
Leaf and U/-bolt for the back.
Adding a Chrome step runner to the sides, in case old or people my age with bad backs want to get easily into the truck. Pics comin.
