Hi everyone - Probably a stupid question, but I've done some searching and since this is specific to stock audio on a 3rd gen I was hoping to post here and not get flamed (too much).

Last night I picked up my 2017 TRD Sport DCSB. The dealer didn't have the one I wanted on their lot, so they dealer traded for the one I was going to order. I wanted the Premium Technology package so I could have the extra bells and whistles - but didn't feel like I could splurge for the additional cost to then upgrade to the JBL system.

As soon as I got in my truck last night, I noticed a small red (orange?) JBL logo on the bottom middle of the head unit as well as the speakers...

my question is, did I somehow manage to get the JBL upgrade and not know it?!?!?! our agreed price didn't change and maybe this was something they were willing to eat in order to move one versus order one?

Is there anything specific for me to look at in order to tell whether or not I do or do not have the JBL premium package?

After test driving a few different ones, the head units were all so close it is hard for me to differentiate.

    Thanks for your help!

    under optional equipment shows"

FP - Premium & Technology package with JBL audio......... $3065.00

I wish it was that obvious, but when I build it online when I select the P&T with JBL the price is $3715.00

is there anything visually to tell me for sure one way or the other?

So your window sticker says it has JBL and your HU and speaker covers say JBL?

You have JBL. Why do you think you don't? Ignore the online configuration, your window sticker is what you have on your truck.

You got JBL. $3,035 was my MSRP for the P&T with JBL option, though some regions seem to bundle it with the $650 Tow package.

The logo is also pretty definitive. If you want to completely verify, look behind the passenger side rear seatback. There's a subwoofer enclosure in that spot on the JBL equipped trucks and not on the others.

You could always flip up the back seat and look for a woofer box... I've got the JBL in mine, I'm not an audiophile but I think it sounds good and was worth the couple extra bones.

I thought only the Limited models with the JBL package had the subwoofer? When I ordered my 16' TRD Sport with the tech package I was told JBL would not add subwoofer so I opted to not get it and upgrade on my own after the fact.

you guys are right, I DO! wow, nice to see that I got it and wasn't expecting it - I figured the dealer would've at least tried to split the difference but nice to see they just slid it in and took care of me. Thanks everyone :)

While I can't speak definitively for the '16s, this statement is completely untrue for the '17s.

I specifically ordered my TRDOR4x4 to get it the way I wanted it, including the JBL upgrade including sub.

No it's not window rattling, but it does add an element of depth to a lot of stuff that is distinctly absent without it.

They lied, or just didn't know any better. My 16' Off-road has it. Not many seem to come with it, as their were only 2 in the area when I got mine, but they were out there.
