I'm in the middle of installing my supercharger and 7th injector . I purchased this from someone and everything came in excellent condition but I'm seeing in the install instructions inputting g upgraded pump and lower thermostat with the setup. He sent the cooler plugs with my kit but no fuel pump or thermostat . Is it necessary to run the pump and lower thermostat . Thanks

Most find that the fuel pump is needed to handle the higher fuel demand. You can get a Walbro 190 for about $100. The 170 degree thermostat is not necessary. Some people will install it if they get excessive pinging

Alright . So the guy I bought it from prob just decided to leave the pump on the truck instead of dropping the tank and replacing it back to stock. Will I be fine to go ahead and run the truck and order the pump mon morning?

Why not just play it safe and wait?

Pump is 100% necessary. Thermostat is not and I wouldn't even recommend it.

Pump is not 100% necessary, especially if you are in Colorado and have the stock pulley on...I have the 2.2 pulley on, no fuel pump, my afr's are fine and I'm at 6,200 feet.

I still have my fuel pump that came with the S/C NIB on the shelf. Maybe the Person you purchased from didn't use one.

Disregard this nonsense for your own engines safety.

I'm going to get one just for my mind sake. The guy i got it from did not have the fuel pump. he said that urd did not include it years back when he bought the kit or when the 7th kit came out . not sure about this or not but he said he ran it without pump and without thermostat without problems . he is located in Seattle. Also he gave me the vehicle specific diagram for a 2003 tacoma. would you think that the wiring would be the same for my 2001. i emailed urd today but with them being closed i won't hear anything until tomorrow.

I have the OEM stock fuel pump also and my AFR is pretty much dead on and I do lean out a tad in the higher rpm's, but nothing major. I use 93 octane only.

I don't have a 7th injector, but MAY get one in the future. The 7th injector isn't absolutely necessary with a supercharger with the stock pulley.

The MAIN problem that I am having is getting the increased volume of air out of the engine that is going in. I spent a half of day taking the passenger side exhaust manifold to see what they look like on the inside and to see if they could be modified to flow more. I found that the stock exhaust manifolds are super restrictive due to manifold bolt accesses molded into them. As far as boring them out to aid in flow.........no way. They are thin to begin with.

I would HIGHLY suggest getting a set of good quality headers.
