    Nothing to do with 3rd gen, don't stir up shit that doesn't need stirring. I've had defective batteries die premature deaths in other vehicles.

    Sounds like bullshit. Factory warranty is honored at all Toyota dealers. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

    9:00??? Where do you live, Mayberry?

    Sucks about the battery trouble. Definitely sounds defective. Should be a warranty item. Good Luck!

    Yes, I agree that batteries fail but it just seems Toyota is failing when it shouldn't fail...

    One guy with a dead battery is hardly indicative of a 3rd Gen nightmare that is plaguing 3rd Gen owners. The trucks have some issues i wholeheartedly agree, but let's not get all drama mama about a dead battery.

    Okay agreed, Let's say the plague that these trucks have is NOT Toyota quality and should not be happening!

    Carry on....

    If you do end up spending your own money on a battery spend extra on a quality battery it is the life blood of the electronics in your vehicle, my factory battery made 4 yrs and craped out

    I don't think I've ever had a battery ever last much beyond four years in a daily driver. Factory or top notch aftermarket.

    My battery crapped out on me right at 3 yrs...right after warranty was up. Original battery in my other vehicle lasted 12 years. It happens.

    Same here. I had a brand new battery from Autozone take a crap on me a month after purchase. This isn't a 3rd gen issue unless there's some other underlining problems with the truck causing the battery to go dead.

    I just started my third gen 14 month old Tacoma no problem this morning... in minus 22 degrees celcius, minus thirty with the wind chill...no block heater, and lots of towing this past year. Must be a bad battery.

    <propeller head warning…>

    Wind chill is irrelevant for dry inanimate objects. While wind will cool stuff to ambient temperature faster, it won’t get colder than ambient temperature. Unless it’s evaporating moisture, but if you’re battery is evaporating you have other problems. :D

    OH NO, All new 3rd Gens batteries are going to die within the next 48 hours......

    For real man. A freaking battery issue and you are calling it the plague.

    We better inform @smitty99 so he can add this to his list.

    Are we comparing this to the quality of 1st and 2nd gen frame rot or the early toyota truck bed rot and head gasket failures?

    I'd say overall the quality has improved a bit.
