Some of that depends on the design of the babbyseat.

These ones in FRONT facing (though these seats can be installed facing rear, they *CANNOT* fit in a Tacoma in that mode) are very compact/slim:
    https://ca.diono.com/product/rainier/

I'm 5'10 and got my first kid up to 3 years old in one of those seats *behind me* with the seat in its normal/comfortable position -- **ACCESS CAB**. He started digging his feet into my back occasionally right near the end, and so I moved him over to the passenger side in a booster and the 1 year old is now behind me. Obviously somebody with longer legs than me might have a bit harder of a time with it.

Hmm... I wonder. Double cab could actually be *MORE CRAMPED*. Is a double cab's back seat base up higher than in an access cab? If it is, then because of the driver's seat recline, then having the kid in the back seat held up higher means that their knees might hit the driver's seat sooner.

Please don't tell me you actually believe this to be true. You shouldn't even have to look up specs to know it isn't.

Pretending like a DC is spacious is bad enough, let alone an AC...

9mo old and 5yr old. Just enough room for them. But you need a topper or cover for the bed to act as an enclosed trunk for their stuff. You know, strollers, bags, pack n play. My wife hauls them daily in the Rav4. We use the truck for trips

last night i was driving with my son who is 7, 54 inches tall, about 62 and sits on a booster. I am almost 6'3 and 220 pounds. I have my seat a few inches from all the way back and there was about 6 inches between his knees and my seat. plenty of room. car seat though, forget about it

    Have you actually looked?

    Here's a picture of a double cab;
    http://www.roadfly.com/new-cars/wp-...a-tacoma/2009-toyota-tacoma-double-cab-07.jpg

Take a careful look at how far the bottom of the seat back sits ahead of the back of the truck. From my eyeball tape, that looks like about 14 inches. On an access cab, that is about ZERO inches. Double cab is 12 inches longer than access cab.

Eyeball tape? I can see that a rational fact-based discussion isn't going to happen with you. I suggest you look up actual SPECS before weighing in in the future. Please put me on ignore.

Ha, you guys are a class act. I post on the basis of logic and facts, not guesses. Debating someone who refuses to look at the facts makes it an argument, not a discussion, which I have no interest in. If that makes me a douche, so be it.

What brand is the passenger side seat? I have this same booster for my soon to be 6 year old. My soon to be 2 year old is about to switch to front-facing and I'm looking for a new seat for her. Both kids are in 90-95th %-ile on weight and height, so I need something that doesn't stretch too far out from the seat so her legs can bed at the knee, rather than have her feet sticking into my back.

We look like the Clampets when we go home for Christmas. I added some KB Voodoo bars and a reverse-mounted regular cab Defender roof rack to strap things down & tarp them to keep dry in the event of rain. It's perfect for strollers, bags:

It's a cheap Costco seat. We have a better seats in my wife's car since they spend more miles in there.

I know this is an old thread but a Google search turned it up and it’s the same question I have as I contemplate purchasing an 18 Tacoma double cab....

How is backseat space for three kids? I have a six-year-old in a booster seat, a 4 year old in a harness seat, and a slightly below average sized 13-year-old that we need to fit back there. It seems like it’d work but how well? Anyone had to do this or maybe three small adults back there?

A lot depends on the family, mine have grown used to the shrunken cab size(in comparison to the other vehicle we have, Ford Flex) when we did a longer camping trip. Also, how long are they traveling for? If it's trips around suburbia then more than likely OK. Take your seat down to the dealership and bolt them in, try it out. Although with a booster, harness seat and another child it'll be cramped IMO.
