So I'm about tired of how groggy this truck is on 33s.. not to mention the shit gas mileage.. and I want to regear but not knowledgeable enough to do it.

So... where would I go to get this done?

What parts would I need for the job? (Guess I could call ecgs to answer this)

    Thanks

I know I can get the parts from there, but not sure what type of place to go to for the labor. Don't really wanna drive to ECGS in NC to do it lol.. somewhere close by would be nice

I shop that deals with alot of offroad rigs would probably do it. Just call around and see if anywhere has experience with toyota diffs.

Take a mini vacation and go to the beach. Otherwise, I guess just call around some shops and ask if they can or if they know anyone that can.

I would find a thread in your local regional forum and maybe ask in there of shops near you with this experience.

ECGS again. Shipping is relatively inexpensive. I just spent around $2200 for them to rebuild with 4.88s and a rear ARB, but I drove to them to swap the differentials over the counter instead of them shipping them to me and paying a core charge and all.

I was thinking 4.56s.. what size tires you running? What's your RPMs at 70mph?

if you look around you should be able to find a used front diff with factory 4.56s. Finding an elocker with 4.56s on the other hand... that would save you quite a bit.

I can't answer your question as I just picked up the diffs. From my math, it'll be a little high for the tires (285/70/17), but I don't hit the interstates much. I figured upon 4.88's for the steel wheels, added armor, and the aerodynamics of a brick.

Either way, ECGS told me it would be about a 200 RPM difference between 4.56 and 4.88.

I won't always be on 33's, so I went numerically higher.

    Check out this calculator http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html
You can input any tire, gear, tranny, transfer case combo you wish and compare a couple side by side.
When I re-geared mine, I used this to compared like 10 different combination possibilities since I was getting tires at the same time. After figuring for the cost of parts (R&P + install kit) and labor for diff rebuild locally, for me it wound up costing about the same at getting diffs from ECGS.
