    Hello,

I have been hearing some weird noises in my front end after a bad visit to a Firestone Auto Care center and the tech doing my alignment couldn't get the toe in spec (aftermarket parts didn't allow him to be able to do it - not his fault). I fixed the toe issue, but I think he was so po'd (yelling and stuff when I was outside watching him) that he might not have torqued the LCA bolts to spec. I want to do this today and see if it cures my front end noises. I've done some reading and I just want to make sure I'm going to do it the right way. Thank you.

Here's the torque spec guide for my truck (08 Prerunner)

So it looks like I need to torque the front bolt on the front LCA bushing and the rear bolt on the rear LCA bushing. Correct or no? I took pictures to idiotproof this for myself and anyone else that may be reading this later:

Front bushing nut that I am going to put the torque wrench on - notice the skid plate:

Rear bushing nut that I am going to put the torque wrench on:

Now one final question: Do I need to put a wrench on the other side of the bushing to keep the whole assembly from rotating? I have a silver paint pen to mark everything before I torque everything. Thank you from an idiot lol.

Torque spec is 130ft#'s. You shouldn't need a wrench on the other side. I would mark the cams with a paint pen to make sure that they don't move if they haven't already.

Your diagram is for 5 lug trucks. It sounds like you have a 6 lug truck.

So I just remove the front skid plate to get the torque wrench on the front bolts?

Looks like this was the culprit. For anyone hearing this sound it seems to be from loose LCA bushings / bolts - they weren't loose, but they weren't torqued to the right spec - maybe 3 turns or so away from it.

Idk why more people don't do this, after an alignment my shit was hand tight for who knows how long until I finally torqued them all myself. It's 155 ft lbs for 2wd, 100 ft lbs for 4wd btw
edit: let me look up a different diagram, I don't remember 2wd being 100 ft lbs
    edit 2: see post 13

Mine made a load pop just today when turning at a drive thru. It was aligned last week. Better roll under it and check myself.

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
Helpful post all. Just did this. It is tricky on the ground from an access and leverage standpoint. I used an extension on a torque wrench to give me more room to move the wrench. For the front bolts, place extension on top of a jack stand to act as a fulcrum. Goodyear tire also does not torque lca bolts to spec after an alignment. I suspect they were somewhere around 75-80 and I was getting the clunk.
