What kit were you looking at from taco tunes? That way i can get an idea for price point and compatibility..

You also can get decent mid bass from your rear doors with something like this.... You wont hear the rear door speakers any other way...

That being said.. you really only need a good 6.5 or 6x9 component set and you will be good.

Also alpine makes what is called a power pack. It adds a bit more power to the speakers than what your factory HU can do...

I acutally helped to wire in one of those Alpine Power packs this weekend! Pretty neat little product.

However, I wont be replacing the Headunit, so doing anything that involves cutting the factory harness is out of the question.

I was looking at this kit from Taco Tunes, but without the subwoofer portion.

That looks like a pretty nice kit. Honestly though... If i were to do anything different on my build, I would have skipped the rear door speakers. Waste of money because you dont hear them and if you are like most people, you dont have passengers in the back very often.

However i would like to swap them out with some of those silver flute 6.5" woofers! I bought some expensive 6.5"s to go in the back and i dont hear them unless i mute all other speakers on my DSP.

 

You want to buy my Hybrid Audio 6.5"s so i can buy some silver flutes?? I also have some passive crossovers to go with them.

Steven did you have to take the bars off in order to install the awning? To slide the nuts/bolts?

 

My thinking is that if I already have the door panels off on the rear, I may as well go ahead and replace the speakers while I am there and messing with stuff. No point in not when I have the full kit to do it.

Lol, I will probally pass on those. Depending on price quote that I get back, just going to do that kit and have everything all at once.
