    Howdy,

I'm having issues after putting new wheels and tires on my truck. I bought a Camburg kit that came with front 6112's and rear 5100's as well as new upper control arms. Right now they are on the 4th notch so a little over 2 inches of lift.

I have wheels on that work for other people but apparently not my truck. They are 17x9 with -12 offset and 4.5 backspacing. The tires on are 265/70/17. I've come to the conclusion that the alignment may be to blame or simply the wheels are not right for the truck because i'm getting rubbing on the cab mount. I had the tire shop put 285's on first but I couldn't move the steering wheel 2 inches without them rubbing on the fender wheel well. They then went down to 265's

I have included the alignment after the lift kit, and before I put the tires on. I am curious if anything can be altered so that the tires fit better underneath. I do not know much about alignments so any information is appreciated. I called my dealer and he said "once we get it on the machine, then we'll be able to tell you the specs."

need 0 offset with 4.5 backspace. 9" is awfully wide for the tire, gonna trash the rims if it ever leaves the mall lot. alignment isn't ideal, but they got it close. 285's require A LOT of trimming.

Yeah I talked to some other people about going down to 17x8 or 8.5 with 0 offset. That would probably clear a whole lot better and then if and when I go up to 285's I might just do a cab mount chop.

I was just curious if getting it aligned again would be worth it or just go ahead and get different wheels.

Getting it aligned won't help, to much dish on inside of the wheel. With the correct wheel, even 265's might touch a little at full crank, depending on alignment, but not enough to need to do a CMC. You are probably close to being maxed out on caster with the camburgs, even with proper wheels to get 285's.
The dealer will probably only align with Toyota factory specs, resulting in too low caster and more chance for rubbing. If you plan on 285's go with 8.5, otherwise an 8" wide is better with the 265. Too wide of a rim increases the chance of curb rash

With 3 degrees of positive caster, thats as good as youre gonna get. Your wheels are the culprit

I did the same thing and got 17x9 with -12 offset rims. Should have to come to tw and done some reading first. Front lift is 2 1/2 inches and had to trim and cab chop to fit Cooper discovery's 265 70 17s with no rubbing. I will probably buy some 17by8 or 16's when the tires wear out.

    Update

Had the Bilstein 6112's adjusted to the top notch and there is no more rub. Same place did the alignment and used 2015 tacoma spec sheet.

Glad to not be rubbing as I was afraid it might contribute to a crash. I can see though if I try to upgrade to 285's i'll have to cab mount chop.
